CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 Honda CR-V has a trend of engine hesitation when accelerating.
Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.
This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

Ms. Jennifer Hudd: Service Manager at Crown Honda, Greensboro, NC where I took the car to be serviced when I relocated in June 2017 to Greensboro NC.
All maintenance services were done per warranty, as evidenced by the Aug 14 2017 oil change and tire rotation below.
In Sept 2017 I had brought the car in complaining of a transmission slip at the time. Notice I changed both the transmission fluid and brake fluid at that time, based on the recommendation of the service personnel at Crown Honda. The service records show this was done.
In Feb 2018 only an oil change was performed, without a tire rotation, as per and by recommendation of a HONDA technician at Crown Honda, no tire rotation was needed at that time.
The service personnel at Crown Honda did not recommend a tire rotation on the Feb 17 2018 visit, and as I trusted Honda to guide me on services that will keep me within warranty, I trusted that Honda representative. I have been a loyal Honda customer for many years, and purchased the extended warranty to be covered because I TRUSTED Honda personnel, no matter where I might be having my car serviced.
In a recent discussion with Crown Honda in Greensboro why this tire rotation was not done, the service manager thought that it was because I had two new tires already on the front of the car and a tire rotation would have moved the newer tires to the back, and the placed the older tires on the front.
As per three HONDA service managers that I have now recently spoken to, with this model of CRV being a front-wheel drive vehicle, performing a tire rotation at that Feb 2018 oil change IS a safety issue and cannot be done. This was NOT documented at the dealership. It has been hinted that I (the customer) should have caught this and questioned the Honda certified mechanic.
In August 2018, I brought the car into the dealership, and you'll notice, had 2 additional new tires put on, along with oil and rotation. This would have now given me 4 new tires all around.
I was told when I bought the warranty coverage that it would follow me to ANY dealership in ANY state. So I informed Crown Honda of the existence of the extra warranty, as I am not a HONDA expert and rely on HONDA for this information. I can only go by what they suggest, believing and TRUSTING that someone would validate the warranty information prior to servicing my car.
I did nothing wrong to void the warranty. I trusted a HONDA dealership to be ethical and honorable in servicing my car, and look what has happened: I have no transportation. I am stranded in another city outside of my home.
UPDATE as of May 20, 2020: I have my 2014 Honda CRV back, with a new transmission direct from American Honda. I still had to pay a portion of the $4,000 bill. When I asked about the warranty for this new transmission, I was told 12 months or 12,000 miles. I am now being shuffled AGAIN back to the purchasing dealership in Brandon to get a partial refund of the extended warranty.
The emotional turmoil this has given me is immense. Where is the customer service in this situation?
