CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 Honda CR-V has a trend of engine hesitation when accelerating.

Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.

This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

CR-V EX 2.4L

On 2 separate occasions, the car has slipped out of park and rolled backwards on an incline about 10 to 15 minutes after I parked it. I was standing near it on both occasions. Fortunately, the one time when it hit the car behind it, the damage was minimal. The other time I was able to leap back in the car and hit the brake, which did work before it ended up in the street.

I have taken the car to the dealership to get diagnosed. They tried to get it to repeat the failure, and it did not do it for them (of course). I was told there was nothing wrong and they can do nothing about it, until it malfunctions in front of them or if I can get an error code from the car.

I need this taken care of before my extended warranty runs out.

Was at Honda Dealership, put car in park, got out to look at cars and 2 minutes later it hit the building. I had looked over seconds before and car was not moving. Severally scrapped driver side front end near headlight and popped apart front wheel well. Car had to have popped out of gear.
