CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 Honda CR-V has a trend of engine hesitation when accelerating.
Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.
This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

Sensor changed because dash lights were flashing. Needed oil. I drove the car to work but when I started the engine at the end of my shift the lights were flashing again. Problem not fixed. Took it Back to the mechanic he reset the system. When I started the car the next day again all the dash lights were on. Went back he rest them again and told me there are numerous problems with the engine that’s been going on for years and Honda has done nothing to rectify the problems. He suggested I take it to the dealer. I’ve had very bad experiences taking a car back to the dealers when they're out of warranty. I feel they find problems that aren’t problems and try to pressure you into buying a new car.
So I took my crv to a different mechanic this time to get a second opinion. This time the oil was extremely low. He asked when I had it changed I told him about a month ago. He went and checked the sticker and said I have over 2000 miles before the next oil change. He asked if the other mechanic forgot to replace the oil? I told him it was low when I had the oil changed. That mechanic told me the same as the first mechanic, Honda has had problems for years with the oil consumption and engine problems and they haven’t done anything to correct the problems. Well since the oil was just changed he just replaced the oil that was needed and is having me come back after I put at least 500 miles on the crv.
Well again the lights were off when I left the garage but as soon as I restarted the engine all the dash lights were on again.
I’ll repeat, no more Honda’s for me. My sons driving a Toyota with over 200,000 miles on it and hasn’t put as much money into it as I’ve put into a Honda that only has 85,000 miles.
