Intermittent battery drain. Basically 1 to 1.5 years I have to get a new battery. When the new car I bought was under warranty the dealership replaced the battery for free. No the car no longer under warranty I pay for the battery replacement. I goto start the car and it doesnt start. I drive the car every 1 or 2 days. Drove to the store and came out and it wouldnt start. Spent 1 hour waiting...jumped the car and off I drove. As mentioned above the battery ultimately got replaced. The alternator and battery were check and couldnt find anything. Multiple mechanics have looked at the car and no one could find anything wrong to explain. This problem is on going.

My 2014 Honda CR-V cannot have a battery last for more than a year. There appears to be some sort of parasitic draw that just randomly drains the battery. I'm so tired of jump-starting a car that I bought new and only has 55,000 miles on it 6 1/2 years later. The battery was tested and is fine. The alternator is fine. The a/c doesn't seem to be staying open and thus on (tested after someone else mentioned replacing it and if fixed their issue). I also wished I realized that it wasn't just Las Vegas heat killing my batteries but actually an issue with the Honda that I can see in many other comments. There is a class action lawsuit about this issue but only for models 2017-2019. But it's reported by many in the 2012-2016 class and pretty much all years and different models. I am going to have to go to Honda to do an electronic test for $200 because nobody else I guess can do that actual test besides the dealer.

I bought this car new and have had battery problems from 6 months on. I have had to replace the battery 3 times already. Repairmen say it is something to do with the electrical system draining the battery. They can take it in and keep car to try to find out what the problem is. I only have one car so any time it is unavailable, I am stuck. Plus am older and live alone and cannot have a car that won't start when I try to go home - possibly late at night.

I had to purchase a portable jump starter that often cannot jump the car because the battery is so dean after sitting for less than 1 hour.

I have had a Honda since 1982 because of its reliability. This one is a great car when it starts. I am trying to find out what the problem might be so it can be fixed and I can avoid a huge repair bill.

We bought this certified Honda CRV two years ago at a Honda dealer. After I test drove it decided to buy it. While we were doing the paper work the car was being detailed. When we finished the manager informed me that they put in a new battery in because it wouldn’t start. It has failed me four times since then. After a jump and overnight charge it works fine for a while then it’s a dead battery again. The battery tests good and so does the alternator. After googling it seems to be a Honda CRV problem for years and is still an issue. Is there a Class Action lawsuit that I can sign up for?

I had the vehicle battery jumped by their grounds services previously on Saturday afternoon & then it started this day no problem at 12:30 pm and then wouldn't start later at 5:30pm. So I believe there is some type of short or issue going on as I had just fully charged the battery on a charger 2 weeks prior at home when it wouldn't start before.

This whole battery being dead and/or dying is an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed because my battery was fully charged & then wouldn't start. Then like I said at 12:30pm when I put my luggage into my car it started no problem. But when I got ready to leave at 5:30pm my car wouldn't start so the remix definitely as issue somewhere & the next time I drove my vehicle at night my daughter was behind me & that's when I found our I had the no tail lights & no brake lights either.

Something needs to be repaired ASAP by Honda on their dime as IT'S A ONGOING ISSUE THAT MANY OTHERS ARE ALSO COMPLAINING ABOUT & MY VEHICLE IS PAID IN FULL. I NEED THIS ADDRESSED RIGHT NOW SO I HAVE A CAR TO DRIVE.

IT'S AGAINST THE LAW TO DRIVE WITH MY CAR LIKE THAT AT NIGHT & IN THE DAY ALSO I NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GONNA START OR NOT.

Wife's 2014 Honda CR-V EX-L went through at least 3 batteries in the first 3 years. She needed constant jump starts and was always worried if her car would start. After reading about this being a common problem on the internet, I tried every fix possible. Some people suggest computer re-flash, others say there's a bad fuse, causing a drain. I'm not sure what exactly causes it, but for now she rides around with a jump starter in her trunk just to be safe. Whatever it is, if you read websites like this one, it's STILL A PROBLEM on the new 2019 models! I don't understand why Honda hasn't figured this out.
