I needed to get the rear pads and rotors replaced exactly 1 year and 15000 miles after the last time they needed replaced. They should last longer than that. I have never had a car that needed the pads and rotors to be replaced so often. I just had the car to the garage for an inspection and it also needed new front brakes, pads and rotors and the mechanic said my rear brakes were down half way from a 10 to a 5 and it was just replaced 6 months ago. So it looks like It will need new rear brakes, pads and rotors every year.

Got this Honda CRV 2014 brand new in May 2014. @ 19,470 miles, we had to replace the both brake pads and rotors at the back today. We heard the noise two weeks ago but dismissed it as like something might be hanging at the back and being dragged. The noise became unbearable this weekend because it became louder. The noise is like dragging flattened aluminum cans at the back of the car.

Documented the complaint @ Honda Customer Care but would not be entertained because the brakes are not covered since they are part of wear and tear according to the representative on the phone. We complained because the car is still basically new given the fact that after acquiring it in May 2014, we have only owned it for 2 years and 5 months and we spent $288.90 for the brake pads and rotors.

It seems like Honda is not putting quality products or parts anymore in the vehicles. We are very disappointed with this brake problem given the fact we had only put 19K miles in the vehicle. We need to be compensated for this problem.

At second brake service I am told need new rotors and calipers as nothing is left of pads on rear. I had the 1st brake done by a dealer and they tell me that this is "NORMAL" wear. Curious. Fronts have 70% pads left but rear is toast. I see that Honda has identified that the factory did not put enough lube on and this can be part of the cause. Poor design, not happy. Dealer says many issues with rear brakes going fast. Costly to maintain with such low mileage. Makes me wonder if dealer did proper service on 1st brake service....

My first Honda CRV, was deciding between Mazda CX5 and this piece of sh*t and I thought: Oh Honda! They are supposed to be reliable. One day I start hearing random screeching noise coming from outside. It was barely audible inside, one of the passersby alerted me. Then I found it was coming from left rear tires. Drove to service, it was continuously there and I was worried as it is 1 yr old vehicle. I don't drive rough so brakes shouldn't be a problem. Anyways dealer says have to change 2 rotors and all brake pads, had to pay $700. Left a feedback, people from dealership called but basically said it is a fair price to have it changed. Why do you change stuff if you're not going to test it? Spent almost 40k and still dealing with WEAR AND TEAR, I mean after 1 year. The other thing is that I feel like car doesn't have enough control or grip on the road when I'm driving in rain. Cheapest cars overtake me and I have to drive like a grandpa. What is the use when you can't have the stability. Honda, take my CRV back, seriously.

Bought car new and soon realized warping front rotors. Waited a while and finally at 15,000mi had dealer check. Had to turn down rotors 25%. Same thing happened again close to 29,000 mi so dealer replaced them under warranty BUT said new cars do not have real good steel in rotors like before and you have to be easy on the brakes to keep them from heating up. My wife drives this car and putts around so I see expensive repairs in the future. Honda is lowering their quailty design and shortening reliability and increasing revenue by forcing additional repairs.

My brakes are squeaking near the end of braking. Very loud, annoying!! Took it in to Autopark Honda dealership in Raleigh. They checked and cleaned the brakes. It stopped for 2 DAYS!!! Totally unacceptable.

I took it back again on March 5 for my oil change, tire rotation and balance. The service department said there is nothing else they can do other than replace the brakes and that it would cost me $250. What?? It is a new vehicle, brakes are fine, other than the awful squeaking!!! Now, this is my second Honda, and the first time I have ever had squeaking problems!! NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!

Any suggestions on what I can/should do?

Just want to make owners of CRV aware. By the way I love my CRV, no regrets of my choice. But as a previous owner of Honda products, I was shock yesterday when I took the CRV for its usual oil change and maintenance.

First I wanted them to check the tire pressure warning sensor. Been on for the past year since we had the winter tires changed in 2013. Mostly it bothered me because the mechanic didn't realized it was on, or he just didn't care. But during the day I got a call from my Honda agent to tell me that they would need to change the brakes at the back on one side. Too much rust, and wear..... after 23000kilos!!!???

WTF. Honda has been know for great products, long lasting cars. A bit more expensive to purchase, but cheaper to own in the long run.

Kinda scary.... makes me a bit worried for the future.
