Okay- I finally got to the spot where I wanted to be so I could write a complaint. I own since new a 2013 Honda CRV that I wrote in about in 2013. This is my second attempt at contact and you can consider it a followup. As everyone complains, the headlights on my car are awful. I have all the same problems as everyone else and have done all the same things as everyone else. Mainly return to the dealer twice to no avail, replacement of stock Honda bulbs with high intensity bulbs with very little improvement and official complaint to Honda headquarters in California where a file was started just like everyone else with no response. They must have an entire warehouse full of files that they ignore at this point.
Many of you have written in about how dangerous these lights are and how people will start dying because of them. Last week it almost happened to me. I almost hit and ran over an elderly gentleman who stepped out in front of my car while I was driving at night. I did not see him as I easily should have because of these awful headlights on the car. I missed running him over and killing him directly because of these headlights. This would not have been a fault of the driver because I was going too fast ( I was not) or I was not paying attention (I was) It is only a miracle of God that a tragedy was avoided. The headlight illumination made this pedestrian invisible to me when he should have been. I was going very slowly. He stepped out in front of me when he should not have.
I say again- PEOPLE ARE GOING TO START DYING BECAUSE OF THESE HEADLIGHTS. YOU NEED TO MAKE HONDA RECALL THESE AWFUL CARS AND FIX THEM. HONDA IS STICKING THEIR HEAD IN THE SAND HOPING THIS WILL JUST GO AWAY. IT WILL NOT.
In my original post I offered for you to come drive my car to see for yourselves. I reiterate this offer. People complain about a 30 thousand dollar car should have better lighting. No car no matter how little it costs should have such poor lighting. My riding lawnmower has better headlights.
