A month or so ago we started having problems opening our rear door. We would pull on the handle multiple times before the door would eventually open. This is definitely a pain in the butt when you have an infant in the rear car seat that you need to constantly put in an out of the car. I was aware that my new car warranty had just expired a few months ago, but I started reading on Car complaints that door lock actuator problems has been an issue with CRV's in the past. I did even see a class action lawsuit, but the settlement only covered CRV's up to 2011.
I figured I would take mine into the dealer and maybe they might cover it. The dealer guy said he hasn't seen this issue in the past and quoted my $370 total for inspection, part and replacement. I was shocked with the price so I payed the inspection fee of $150 and ordered the $60 part. I did the replacement myself which took about 10 minutes. My warranty just ended and it seems that Honda is still screwing people over with shoddy door lock actuators, even after a lawsuit on previous version. I hope others with 2013 models report this issue and maybe they will put through a recall and I can get a refund...
