I bought my CRV last year November and took out an extended warranty from the Honda dealership with the peace of mind that I am safe for all those big possible problems. Well I was surprised 7 months later with the news that my Exhaust Gas Re-circulation pipe had cracked without any plausible reason and what do you know, because its described as a "pipe", the warranty won't cover it. Honda engineers tell me that this pipe shouldn't really need replacing but it has cracked and its causing loss of engine pressure, increased fuel use and so on. I tried fighting with the insurance company but they don't even respond to my e-mails and refuse to listen to reason when I call. They also take no less than 14 minutes to answer their phones. The insurance is called Traficc Power Torque.
I love the car but this one unfortunate thing has disappointed me incredibly.
What I want to know, is this not a factory fault on this metal pipe that it has cracked in 3 years?
Any help would be appreciated.
