We bought the CR-V in January 2019 with a new battery installed. The battery kept dying after a few days, even after having been driven and the local Honda dealership replaced it for free (with a fight) in July 2019. Starting in late summer 2021, the battery just dies overnight. It started happening randomly, now (February 2022), it's every day. I have to jump start my car EVERY DAY. It doesn't matter how long it runs or how far I drive. I turn everything I can off before I turn the car off, so there's no extra pulling on the battery that I can control. I replaced the A/C relays hoping that would fix the problem (as I found it mentioned online in several places). I thought it worked, but about a month later, same problem.

Another batter failure with the Honda CRV. Had 4 before this. Purchased another new battery 10/06/21. Was completely dead yesterday. AutoZone gave me one without charge, but this keeps happening. So frustrating.

Second time battery has died. Car was in the garage for 1 week not being used. Went to start it up. Completely dead. No radio, lights or power locks. Tried jumping it to no avail. Had to have it towed to dealership again for them to look at it. No answers yet. 84 month battery 2 yrs old. Looked up complaints. Some show remote start feature could be causing problem or software update but not on any CRVs before 2011.

Update from Dec 13, 2014: Update is the dealership said there was a dead cell and that batteries die all the time. Funny how I have an Insite for over 4 yrs and still going strong and never had any other car battery go that quickly. So end result new battery at full price. Honda sucks

Battery goes dead when the car is off 24 to 48 hours. We took it to Abilene Honda in Abilene Texas. They said the battery Honda installed is too weak for the size of motor and could sell us another for $125.00. Honda cannot replace the battery under warranty because it still tests OK. We just keep jumper cables and a battery charger with us at all times. As long as we run the car for an hour per day, the battery will maintain its charge. Leave the care for a weekend, well, all bets are off. After putting up with this for two years, we are going to start shopping for a real battery.

I was stranded 4 times with a dead battery. Got jumped each time and things went well for a while each time. Last time I happened to be in front of an auto supply store. Went in and bought a battery and had it installed. Took the original battery to Honda where they tested it and it tested perfect. I could not get a refund for my purchase because the battery tested good. How inconvenient that I wasn't stranded in the Honda parking lot where I could have had them come out an take care of the problem. It's also interesting that with the new battery I have never been stranded again.

I don't know what the problem with the battery was, I do know that I was DONE having to be stranded and finding someone who could jump me to get me going again. I left the used battery with Honda. It may have tested as "working" but for some reason it "DID NOT WORK" 4 times while it was in my car.
