Arm rest on both front doors and arm rest attached to both seats are peeling. I take really good care of my car. I have heard from several friends with the same problem. Currently trying to buy a new car but very hesitant to go back to Honda....Honda should replace the arm rests & the door panels. I got an estimate from Honda for $390 to replace the panel. Honda should take care of this. IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. .
I bought my car 5 years old. About a year after I had it I noticed the armrest on the driver's side door was peeling. Ew. Generally the leather in the CRV is not good quality. The seats should have held up way better than they have based off of other cars we've had. Is disappointing. I got an estimate from Honda and they said $181 to replace the panel.
I believe Honda should fix the arm rests. They had to know the vinyl was too thin when manufactured/placed in the vehicles. I have heard from several with the same problem. They should replace the arm rests.
Right after I bought the car, the left arm rest started peeling. Honda replaced it and I had to pay $25 out of me pocket. Months later my right arm rest started peeling and they refused to fix it. I was told at Johnson City Honda the arm rest and labor to fix was $270. I bought a Honda not a Fiat. This should not happen. I found a web site one day that showed several people have the same problem. We need to get a class action suit started about this. No Honda should do this. Mine is not a cheap car fully loaded with everything and they should have used material that would last.
I was told people's lotion caused this--only problem is--I am a widow and no one sits on that side. So that knocks that theory in the head and too many people have this same problem. Makes my car look bad and very embarrassing if someone does ride to have to explain that they can't put their arm on my arm rest. I want it replaced and I should not have to pay for it.
Honda has a whole lot more money that this widow does and if they hadn't used cheap materials it wouldn't have happened to start with. By the way, I had to have my door lock replaced also. My extended warranty I paid for paid to fix it.

I take really good care of my car and at first i thought it was from cleaning, then noticed that this is a common problem with this car. Very unhappy with Honda for not fixing this issue. My door locks also have problems. For a few months my driver side door would not unlock, I had to enter my car using the passenger door. I switched the doors actuator with the passenger side door and I thought i fixed the problem but now my truck won't open. I know there was a recall on this issue, but i just haven't had the time to go in and get it fixed.

Honda used very very cheap interior vinyl the armrests are bubbling and cracking on the premium leather interior. The entire armrest will need to be replaced, it is a defect that Honda motors refuses to acknowledge. I have owned a dozen different cars and this has NEVER happened on any other make. Will look at the new Ford Focus or Kia Sorrento next time, better quality.
Both front door arm rests are peeling. I assumed it was due to suntan lotion, or some other cleaning solution, however, since then I noticed that ALL other CRV's I scope out in parking lots have this same issue.
The armrests (both the side and interior folding) for front passenger and driver sides started peeling shortly after the warranty expired. Honda Paralees is pretty cheap material as this is a somewhat common complaint among Honda owners. I contacted Honda seeking at least a coupon or something to purchase Honda accessories as I was out of pocket over $250 but they declined using the standard "out of warranty" argument.

Update from May 11, 2014: Recently found out that if your armrest hasn't actually peeled yet but is bubbling you can put a wash cloth in boiling water and put on the leather. After it melts down treat with leather conditioner.
My Honda CRV has been taken good care of, most people think it is almost new, except the arm rest. the leather has cracked and split and looks terrible. My car is kept in the garage and never has gotten rain or water inside. zNow the other arm is starting to crack. It needs replaced. I would not buy another Honda if this is not fixed. I worry when I go to trade it in my trade in value will be low due to this. PLEASE fix it, then I would love to purchase another Honda. Fed up in WV!
