Yesterday I got in my vehicle and the drivers side window switch is totally dead, which upon researching is an issue that many other 2005 CR-V owners are experiencing. The crazy thing is that there are 2 separate recalls for this issue back in October 5, 2012 (Electrical System & Visibility: Power Window Devices & Controls, NHTSA Reference #: 12V486000). The recall states that it is for certain 2002-2006 CR-V passenger vehicles stating that the drivers side power window switch may fail or melt, and that ultimately this could cause a fire. I have been reading complaints from other 2005 CR-V owners and some of them have actually had their vehicles smoke or even CATCH FIRE, and Honda did not take responsibility, as I assume that they were told the same thing I was when I called to find out if my vehicle was included in the recall "your VIN# is not included in this recall". All I know is that I am in the market to purchase a new vehicle in the next 6 months, and I was leaning towards a Pilot, but the extensive electrical issues I have experienced with my 2005 CR-V (malfunctioning dome lights/replacing headlights every 3-6 months) have been cumbersome, and I believe all of these issues should have been addressed by the manufacturer and included in the multiple recalls they have issued for these exact issues on other years...this makes me seriously reconsider being a loyal Honda owner.
