The service department at joyce Honda in denville, NJ routinely overinflates their customer's tires by at least 5 lbs in winter. They tell me that they do that so that they're not getting lots of calls from customers when their TPMS light goes off. I can't see how that practice benefits anyone but them by saving them from having to explain that, if the light is on, you need to check your tire pressure.
