Put oil in and oil does not show that it has leaked from CR-V. Nothing on the ground but does show in the tail pipe heavy soot .. can't see any smoke.. but may be light smoke that I can not see. After putting in oil within 3 days the oil is gone. The check engine light comes on and the vehicle starts to idle at 1.5 and jerks back and forth .. I just purchased the vehicle used on December the 4th of 2012 and the check engine light was on the day I purchased it. The dealership had to work on it before would pass inspection so no lights were showing. When you put in oil and drive for for little bit and get oil through vehicle the check engine light goes out. So obviously the problem was there before purchasing the vehicle.
The issue should be address by Honda first by updating the software as it is said to be a known issue as of Jan 2012. All Honda owners with this issue whether pre owned or not should at least have the option to get the software update first before being blamed for the problem. Since this isn't just a CR-V issue or Accord or Pilot. ect.. and is obviously Honda itself all Honda engines should at least get one free look over by certified Honda dealer and noted vin that it was done for consumers protection and piece of mine!!
