The contact owns a 2003 Honda CR-V equipped with toyo extensa tires, size: 215/65R15. While driving approximately 65 mph, the rear driver side tire experienced tread separation. The contact also indicated that the front passenger side tire experienced a sidewall crack and split that caused the tire to go flat. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage, dot number, and VIN were not provided.

My wife was driving on I-95 South @ 65 mph. Traveling from baltimore md to kitty hawk nc on vacation. She noticed a vibration in the car. She pulled over and found the front passenger tire was nearly flat and the sidewalls were coming apart. She had the spare tire installed and continued to her destination. She took the tire to a repair shop. They said the sidewall failed. They showed her where the other front tire was starting to fall apart. The two rear tires were also failing. She had to purchase 4 new tires. All 4 tires were purchased in October 2005. The tires are bf goodrich long trail. All tires were routinely rotated and balanced. I checked the air pressure on 09/10/09. She is on vacation. I will try to have her bring one tire home as evidence. She does not have enough space to bring 4 tires home. The tires have between 7/32" and 8/32" of tread remaining.

Dueler H/T 684 Bridgestone tire on right rear of my Honda CRV 03, tread separated while driving off exit ramp on freeway. There was no warning. Tire pressure had been checked less than two weeks before. There was plenty of tread left on tire. The tire just fell apart while I was driving. Honda dealer referred me to Firestone dealer who referred me to a corporate Firestone dealer who gave me a claim number to call. I expect if I call they will prorate the tire and sell me another to put on the car. My feeling is that these tires are not safe and I need to replace them before another falls apart and not with Bridgestone or Firestone tires.

Complete tire failure. While travelling at highway speed noticed tire vibration. Within 10 seconds of hearing the noise the tire completely failed-- the tire was in 3 peices: The two sidewalls were hanging on the rim and the entire tread area was separated from them (the tread area remained in one solid piece). The tires were original equipment on the car, which is only7 months old. The mileage on them was 10000.

I have a new Honda CRV with 1,600 miles and 3 days ago while driving on the highway my Bridgestone tire blew apart, sending the tire across 3 lanes of highway. A deputy sheriff was driving, and he stated he had never had a blowout like that and felt it was probably a defective tire.

The steering wheel started shaking while driving 55 mph. The consumer pulled to side of road and stopped, he checked all the tires and the noticed left rear tire had blown out and was shredded. The steel belt inside of tire was wrapped around the tire. The vehicle was towed to schwabs, and all tires were replaced.
