2001 Honda CR-V driver was killed by the air bag while driving the leased vehicle. Document did not stated if there was an accident, or was the consumer just driving and the air bag inadvertently deployed. Updated 10/28/15.
The contact owns a 2001 Honda CR-V. the contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front of the vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained head, neck and shoulder injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000.
I was involved in a rollover accident in Nov. Of 2005 and I was driving a Honda CRV 2001. The airbags did not deploy during the accident or after. The vehicle rolled several times and there was over 100 feet of debris. Why didn't the air bags deploy? the CRV was a total loss.
