Consumer was driving in the city, "there was a loud pop that came from the driver's side floor board near the gas and brake pedals." The driver immediately saw flames coming from under the hood and pulled over. Another driver traveling behind told the consumer there was a trail of gas leaking under the vehicle prior to stopping. The vehicle was totaled. Consumer smelled gas before fire ignited. A passerby put most of the fire out before the fire dept. Arrived.
