WELL HERE WE ARE !!!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WITH SOMETHING NEW THIS TIME, ( SO I THOUGHT). ANYHOW, HERE WE GO,,,,THE SUMMER OF 2014, AROUND JUNE OR JULY, I TUNED THE HONDA UP WITH THE BEST WIRES, CAP, ROTOR, AND 12$ PLUGS EACH. WELL, I WENT TO START IT, WELLLLL, IT WOULD NOT START???? I HAVE DONE THAT JOB A MILLION TIMES BEFORE AND NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE. AFTER A FEW HOURS OF MAKING SURE I DIDN'T MISS SOMETHING OUT OF THE WAY LIKE A WIRE UNPLUGGED OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. WELL THEN AFTER SOMETIME WENT BY I STARTED AT THE BEGGING. CHECKED THE CAP, ROTOR, WIRES. WELL I JUST FOUND IT, 2 SPARK PLUG WIRES WERE NOT ON RIGHT ,,,,SO I THOUGHT ANY WAY,,,PUT THEM ON AND TRIED AGAIN STILL WON'T STAR,T DAM,,, SOB.
SCRATCHING MY HEAD TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT AND WHAT JUST HAD HAPPEN SO IT WAS INTO THE BOOK FOR IDEAS. WEL, CHECK FOR SPARK WAS FIRST THING WE DID AND HOLY SH*T THERE IT IS,,,,,,, NO FU.KING SPARK NOW WHY???TESTED THE RESISTANCE ON THE SPARK PLUG WIRES ,,,, NOT IT ........SEE IF THE DISTRIBUTOR HAD POWER TO IT ,,WELL IT DID ,,WELL THEN IT'S EITHER THE CAP ROTOR OR EVEN THE COIL WENT BAD SO BACK TO THE BOOK FOR ANSWERS.
WELL SINCE THE CAP AND ROTOR WAS NEW I ELIMINATED THEM AS THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT WAS TIME TO START TESTING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTOR TESTED THE COIL SOME READINGS SEEMED LOW THEN THE ECU/ECM/,,,WELL SON OF A BITCH THE ECU WAS BAD?? NOW THE QUESTION IS WHY DID THAT HAPPEN AFTER A TUNE UP THAT IS SO EASY TO DO..WELL BACK TO THE BOOK AFTER READING A WHILE. NOTHING JUMPED OUT AT ME FOR AS WHY THIS HAPPEN??SO IT WAS TIME TO MAKE SOME PHONE CALLS. I STARTED WITH THE LOCAL AUTO STORES,, GOT SUGGESTIONS BUT NOTHING THAT WAS ANY THING REAL AS WHAT CAUSED IT,,, WELL SH*T,,,, NOW TO THE DEALER TO PICK A TECHS,, MIND,,,WELL SOMEWHAT ANYWAY.. THERE WAS ONE TECH I DID LIKE THAT WORKED THERE, HE SAID WHAT HAD HAPPEN WAS THAT BECAUSE THE PLUG WIRES WERE NOT ALL THE WAY ON PROPERLY IT SHORTED OUT THE ECU. I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE. SO OFF TO GET SOME PARTS A NEW ECU, A NEW COIL AS WELL SO THIS WAY I'M NOT RUNNING BACK AGAIN. SO THEN, WELL, THAT'S EASY ENOUGH, JUST A COUPLE OF LITTLE SCREWS AND THE ECU IS OUT, A COUPLE MORE THE COIL IS OUT ----- RIGHT.
YEA, WELL THOSE TINY LITTLE SCREWS WERE SO DAM TIGHT THEY JUST ROUNDED OUT... WELL, SH*T TOO, NOW WHAT THE FU.K,, IT'S NOT LIKE THEY SELL THEM SEPARATELY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. WELL IT'S OFF TO THE JUNK YARD TO GET THEM ,,,, RIGHT,,,NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM WERE THERE ANY LIKE THAT WHAT I NEEDED ,,NOW WHAT THE HELL TO DO...??? SO I JUST THOUGHT ALL THE WAY HOME WHAT TO DO WHEN IT HIT ME, HOW ABOUT A JAPANESE STEREO?
SO NOW IT'S OFF TO THE DUMP. BY GOD THEY WERE JUST LAYING AROUND SO I TORE THEM APART. HOLY SH*T I GOT THEM ,,, NOW HOW ABOUT THAT SH*T THEM JAPS ARE ALL ALIKE. WELL HOME I WENT AND PUT THE PARTS IN AND ,,,,BANG IT STARTED JUST LIKE THAT IT WAS RUNNING AGAIN. WELL I NEVER.
IT RAN FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS ,, ONE MORNING I WENT GO OUT AND NO SH*T, IT WON'T START AGAIN,,, WTF,,I SAID F,, IT AND JUMPED IN MY RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE DODGE TRUCK 4X4. AS I WAS SO PISSED OFF WITH THE HONDA AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS NOT THINKING ABOUT THE HONDA I STARTED TESTING. WELL THIS TIME EVERYTHING TESTED RIGHT NOW,,, WTF,,HAPPEN TO IT. I HAD ENOUGH WITH IT SO I HAD IT TOWED TO HONDA AND LET THEM FIGURE IT OUT. WELL I GOT A CALL A FEW HOURS LATER THAT THE CRV WAS FINISHED. ALBE DAM, THEY SAID ALL IT NEEDED WAS ,, ,,, YOUR GOING LOVE THIS ,,, A CAP ROTOR, WIRES, PLUGS, HOLY SH*T. I JUST PUT THAT SH*T ON IT. SO I PICKED IT UP WELL IT WAS RUNNING GOOD AGAIN, HAD THE PEP IT HAD BEFORE AND EVER THING. I WAS BESIDE MYSELF WITH THAT ONE.
ANY HOW, IT NOW HAS 21800 MILES ON IT, STILL RUNNING SOOOO, YOU THINK!!! WELL, GUESS WHAT, NOW I DROVE TO THE STORE AND THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT IS ON AND FLASHING,,, AS I AM LOOSING POWER AND IT'S RUNNING ROUGH WHEN I STOP,,, AND IT F*CKING STALLS OUT, STARTED BACK UP AND HEADED FOR HOME. SO I THOUGHT WELL, AS I WAS CREEPING HOME, THE TRANS WENT FROM DRIVE TO LOW WITHOUT ME SHIFTING. SO I DROPPED IT IN LOW AND SHIFTED BACK UP AND IT WAS FINE AGAIN, SO I THOUGHT. JUST ABOUT A 1/4 MILE FROM HOME THE TRANS GAVE OUT!!! IT HAD NO FORWARD GEARS BUT IT HAD REVERSE SO I BACKED IT ALL THE WAY HOME. NOW I HAD ENOUGH OF THIS DAM HONDA SO IT SITS HERE.
THEN FOR KICKS I BOUGHT A SCANNER. WELL HOLY SH*T. THERE WERE SO MANY CODES READING I PUT THEM DOWN ON PAPER AND HERES WHAT I HAD,,,,( PO300,,PO301..PO303..PO450,,PO453,,PO730..P1399 ) SO I LOOKED THEM UP WOW RANDOM MISFIRE CYL#1 MISFIRE /CYL # 3 MISFIRE / EVAP FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR HIGH OUT PUT AUTOMATIC TRANS AXEL,,/ AND STILL HAVEN'T FOUND OUT WHAT ,,PO450 OR P139 IS,,
BUT I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO THIS CRV,, AGAIN ,,,I JUST FOUND OUT AS SOON AS I DID A COMPRESSION CHECK,,,,YEP, YOU GUESSED IT, THE F*CKING HEAD LET GO AGAIN. WELL I WILL TELL YOU THIS I'M NOT PAYING FOR THAT AGAIN. NOW IT'S F*CKING ,,,HONDA'S TURN TO PAY,, THAT'S HOW I FOUND THIS EXCELLENT PLACE TO VENT OUT ABOUT THE 2001 CRV THAT HAS A MAJOR FAULT WITH IT BESIDES OTHER THINGS TOO. SO IF ANY ONE CAN SHARE THE BULLETIN THAT HONDA SENT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AT THE HONDA DEALERS I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT AS I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CORPORATE OFFICE THIS TIME SO ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL AS WELL
