The contact owns a 1999 Honda CR-V. while driving approximately 25 mph on an uneven road surface, a loud clunking noise emitted from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing and the contact was informed that the passenger side lower control arm fractured. In addition, the reinforcement cross brace would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact mentioned that Ford issued a recall under NHTSA campaign number: 14V165000 (structure) pertaining to certain model vehicles. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.
Door locks lock and unlock on their own. Standing outside or looking out of home window I can see and hear them going up and down. Also, the dome light flickers off and on while this is happening. Car was bought from a used car lot, and did not come with a remote key fob. The check-engine light has been reset twice but comes on and has stayed on while driving for 11 months so far. Cannot open back/hatch door with key, must use the latch inside the car. When turning tight left or right, the whole car shakes underneath. Otherwise, no problems.
