The contact stated while driving approximately approximately 30 MPH, and turning to the left or to the right, the steering wheel would be slow to return to center after making the turn. The contact stated that he would have to manually steer the vehicle back to center. The contact stated that there were no warning lights when the steering was sticking. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. Additionally the contact stated that he was smelling the odor of gasoline in the passenger cabin when he would start the vehicle. The contact stated that the smell was not constant but was also intermittent. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
