On highway drive, during a rainstorm, the vehicle lost power and went into a limp mode. The check engine light was blinking. I could not maintain speed on the highway in the left lane and was not able to get into the right lane and pull over because of traffic. A large truck had to slam on its brake and almost rear-ended my family. A co-worker had the same problem with his 2019 Honda Accord during a rainstorm. It appears water gets into the airbox causing the issue. Honda dealership said no codes were stored and they were unable to find the cause.
I now do not allow the wife to drive this car in rainstorms and believe it is a bad airbox design, and it could cause someone to die in an accident on the highway with a sudden loss of power.
