The advertised fuel economy of the 2018 Accord Hybrid is 47city/47highway. Unfortunately this is nowhere close to being true for me. The ratio of city to highway driving that I do is about 1:3 respectively. Regardless, fuel economy should at least be in the 40’s right? This is not the case sadly. I consider myself to be a conservative driver having many years of experience driving a different type of hybrid system in the Toyota Prius. I thought there would be a smooth transition to this system and while it has been, my efforts have been sorely rewarded. I’m averaging 29 highway and 34mpg city. Keep in mind this is babying the system (i.e. minimizing rpm spike, additional weight/cargo, and keeping the exterior clean. In these colder months, I try to keep the air off and only use the seat warmers as well as keep the vehicle in eco-mode and I’m not getting the advertised mpg. I am disappointed in this discrepancy seeing as I bought the vehicle for fuel efficiency.
