The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 MPH, there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the rear-end of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic brake actuator was fully engaged causing the metal to rub together. The contact stated that the driver-??s side rear no longer had functioning brakes. The contact was informed that the electronic brake actuator and brake caliper needed to be replaced. The dealer was contacted; however, the contact was unable to speak with a representative. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was repaired at owners expense.
