This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The paint on the hood of the car contains several chips and the paint on the entire hood has faded and has lost its color which was black, The appearance now appears to be faulted.
Driving at highway speed and sunroof glass spontanious exploded. Wasn't under any over passes or behind any vehicles. Luckily, I had the inside cover closed or I would've gotten shards of glass on my head and face while I was driving.
The driver side air bag did not deploy, however, the passenger side air bag ceployed when we hit a deer at 70 mph! Both air bags should have deployed since we hit the deer in the center of the car! My wife an I are very lucky to be alive! The insurance company inspected the car and considered it to be totaled. The sheriffs department also made an accident report! No warning lights were on at all, I just had the car tuned up and it was in good working condition! Air bags not deploying could be a Hugh issue for Honda in the future! Send me an email and I will scan the information in and send it to you!
The RF and LR door locks won't unlock or lock with the switch or the key fob. By not being able to lock or unlock those doors, if I had an accident my passengers would not be able to exit the car. I have tested this several times and the only way to unlock or lock is manually by pushing the switch on the door itself. It has not been inspected by anyone other than me. and the problem started with the LR door lock not working, now has also started on the RF door, the LR started about 2 months ago and the RF started 3 days ago.
While driving this Honda accord the sunroof suddenly exploded into thousands of little pieces. It rained down pieces of glass all over me and the interior of the car. Nothing hit the glass and I had never heard of this occurring until I began researching to see if it had happened to others. There are many instances where people have talked of this happening to them on the Honda forum and other places online. This is definitely a safety concern. Glass shattering and pouring down on people while they are driving is potentially a fatal flaw. Cars with sunroofs should be required to use laminated glass like for windshields,
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that moisture would enter the vehicle from an unknown location and accumulate inside of the undercarriage. The contact stated that the passenger's side floorboard was soaked after a car wash or after driving during inclement weather. The contact also stated that he could hear water swaying back and forth while driving. The contact called hersons Honda (15525 frederick rd, rockville, md 20855) where he was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
My airbags didn't deploy at the time of frontal accident at approximately 30-40 mph. Accident happened on county street (glen mill rd montgomery county Maryland) January 25th at 6:30 am. With the road being very dark, I didn't see a full size tree across the roadway from a severe storm the night before. I anticipated the airbag deploying on impact, however it seem like a minute or two before they deployed but never inflated ( niether the front or passanger side curtin) photos are on my phone and will send when I can download on this site.
Rear view camera glitches then went black. Very short intermittent on, but then glitches and screen goes black again. Now the screen stays black when shifting into reverse or try different angles. Clean lens and no obstructions.
Residue under the hood insulator cover is always wet/moist with leftover white residue on a brand new 2017 Honda Accord. Informed yonkers Honda dealership that there could be possible leakage but dealership did not make any thorough inspection for any leakage instead told me it's "normal" verbally however in work order no mention of any inspection for leak even though my work order description clearly states it so.
The vehicle I owned is 2017 Honda Accord touring. Problem I discovered was center console silver stripe (passenger side) pop up. I went to dealership have it fixed. The problem occurs every month, and I am getting tried to fix it every month. The silver stripe piece is sharp, could possibly cut your finger or skin. I owned the vehicle for almost a year, like new, with less than 3K miles on it.
Takata recall I recently had a car accident on 11/29/17 where the air bags deployed and I cut my face and had 6 stitches and my mother broke her arm and has a cast and might need surgery. I just leased the car 2 months ago.
While I was driving on the highway, I heard a loud noise on the hood. I pulled over to the side and saw a large hole on the sunroof. I thought it was a large rock at first, but then I saw the glass by the broken edges pushed up. It started from inside out. I don't understand why it would exploded on its own but I know for sure there was no truck shooting rocks at my car.
Noticed some rust on the bumper there is a layer of paint and metal that scraped off from rocks driving down the highway. The under metal has heavy rust it has not snowed here in Texas so there is no salt on the roads. We have only had rain. I'm afraid there maybe other parts of this new vehicle that are going to rust like this over time.
The head restraints in the Honda Accord (2017) are so uncomfortable and forward-leaning that they cause drivers and passengers to drive in a "chin down" position. This is causing musculoskeletal issues that will likely require attention and treatment in the near and distant future.
There is a noticeable and very annoying wind noise at ear level from either the drivers or the front passengers window. Very annoying for this brand new Accord ex. We hope nhsta acts and suggest to issue tsb and fix for all their vehicles.
The vehicle was parked at a gas pump. After filling the gas tank. I started the engine, leaving it in park. I stepped out of the vehicle to check my gas cap and the vehicle started moving backwards quite fast. I ran it down, opened the door, but before I could break it the door was seriously bent. I believe the only explanation is a fault in the transmission where the gear slipped from park to reverse.
