I'm a radio listener and the stock units that Honda installs are of the cheapest, worthless quality (there really is NO quality). If I would've known how bad the radio system is, I would've never, never bought a Honda Accord.
Rattle in the rear deck anytime the volume is 10+ of out 40 ! there is a service bulletin from Honda to fix issue and is done under warranty. A lot of dealers will insist it's a settings problem but it's not and they can fix it.
My new Accord's (EX L) audio system is so annoying, it is worse than a car which costs way lesser than the accord. The whole speaker tray vibrates when the volume is turned up to 11 points and I can only hear the distortion noise when the audio is increased to about 20 points when 35 is the maximun. I think the audio system and fixtures are sub standard. Did not expect this from Honda.
The car purportedly came with a 360-watt, 7-speaker premium audio system including subwoofer and XM® Radio. It's absolutely the worst sounding radio, I've ever heard in a vehicle. In fact, I've had portable transistor radios that sounded far superior. The FM is totally unlistenable. With much adjustment (fading most of the sound to the rear, turning down treble and turning up the bass), sources other than FM can be listened to but it's not great. It seems as if a lot of DSP/EQ was applied to the sound output -- this cannot be adjusted by the user. On the dealers lot, I checked similar cars -- all had bad radios.
