During a routine inspection of my 2016v Accord in my own garage, I noticed the driver and passenger front seat belts were fraying on the edges. It appears the seat belts are rubbing on the seat belt retraction mechanism when being deployed for use and retracted when exiting the vehicle. Seems the seat belt may be rubbing on something rough causing fraying of the seat belt material on the edge. Dealer repaired driver side but denied passenger side seat belt at this time because it was not bad enough yet. My 2004 BMW X3 has original seat belts and shows no signs of seat belt fraying anywhere. Poor quality or defective retraction device. If the seat belts don't get checked regularly for this concern, this could be a potential problem long term for owners and Honda of America.
Update from Feb 4, 2020: Dealer replaced driver side seat belt. Denied replacement of passenger seat belt at this time.
