The car had a problem where it will not start because the stater grinds. Honda knows about the problem and won-??t do a recall instead they charged me to have the remove the engine. Install a new torque converter and starter. They said the factory had a bad batch of torque converters. And quite a few cars were affected by this problem. Seems ridicules that a problem they k ow about with a part quality is the problem of the consumer. It-??s about $3400 for each person that has to deal with this. The way the starter stays engaged and just grinds it could easily cause a fire.

Engine harness, sensor and gasket needed to be replaced. FAULTY WIRING!!! Bulletin Honda initiated indicated to replace all parts. This is a defect on this vehicle that has been in a very dry climate and has been stored in a garage since purchase. The cost to repair was over $3,100. Honda knows about this issue and has has yet to recall the Accord Sedans for repair. I would like Honda to reimburse me for the cost to replace all parts and labor. This vehicle only has 59,576 miles on it and the original harness should have lasted the lifetime of the vehicle. This is a safety issue.

my 2016 Honda Accord EX-L V6 is on it's 4th starter.A service Bulletin has been issued 16-002 to fix the problem, but it has not made a difference.I have contacted Honda Corp(Case 13172338) i August 2022 and they did not want to help even though they knew it was a on going problem with V6 owners. The internet has plenty of V6 owners that have the same problem and are left with cars that can't be fixed properly. I believe that since Honda does not have that engine since 2017 they are wishing the customers will just go away.

In 2021, Its been told my starter is beginning to fail. Takes multiple attempts to start car. Does not happen every start up, and seem to not happen when taken in for diagnosis. Mechanic says until it does it everyday don't worry about. Its becoming more frequent, and now the car runs loud and hard. Had a previous issue and had both catalyst converters, and since then its been problem after problem.

On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, my wife was parking her car in the parking lot of a TJ Maxx, 4220 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. As she turned right into the parking space, at a very low rate of speed, 1-2 mph, the engine revved and launched her into another parked vehicle. Once the engine revved and launched she had both feet on the brake pedal. It did light damage to the vehicle she hit and moderate damage to her 2016 Honda Accord Coupe. The impact was hard enough to deploy the driver side airbag. No one was in the other vehicle and she did not sustain serious injury. The car was towed to a body shop. The other vehicle was drivable and insurances were exchanged.

I have a 2016 Honda Accord EX -L. V6.it has 100500 miles. In that time it has gone through 3 starters.Honda has issued a service bulletin( 16-002) but never a recall.Checking the internet there a lot of people having the same problem.I have filed a complaint with Honda motor and they want to split the cost of repair. I don-??t think that-??s fair because it is a known problem because of a design flaw

I have a 2016 Honda Accord touring with 102K miles VIN# [xxx], on 09-03-2020 was driving South on I-295 to orange park fl with my grand daughter [xxx] and daughter [xxx] and before exit to collins rd, my vehicle check engine light came on flashing and my Honda Accord turn off while driving in the middle lane doing 55mph almost got rear ended by a semi truck and fast speeding cars, I was able to pulled over safety to the emergency lane on right side of highway, I was trying to figure out what has just happened, waited 5 minutes shivering with fear what was just about to happened, before trying to re-start my Honda Accord, the car started and rpms where below 500rpm with vibration, luckily I had my obd2 code reader in my glovebox called fixd, I plugged into vehicle obd plug and got 3 codes P0300 random multiple misfires, P0304 cylinder 4 misfire, and P0305 cylinder 5 misfire, I turned off and re started vehicle back on and vehicle started with no check engine or vibrations that was really, really odd, this is really dangerous and dealership didn't find anything wrong with vehicle. I was on my way to work on a major highway and my car started stalling a jerked forward almost causing a collision I pulled over to a safe area and called my family member he had to drive it to advance auto and they diagnosed it as a faulty fuel pump. I called Honda and my insurance company and got the car towed to Honda where it was also diagnosed as a fuel pump to be replaced per them my car had no other issues as I always keep up the maintenance on the car as I'm still paying for it. The only company that has this part was Honda so they ordered the part and attempted to replace it. Once I received my car back I noticed a strong gas smell and stalling to crank. I called them and had it towed back and they said it was a gas leak they had to replace the whole system they just put in. Once I received the call back I noticed the same thing but this time the scent was significantly strong causing headaches to myself and other people I also have a video of the gas pouring out from under my car after I had just filled up the tank. I told Honda the first time my concerns about it being fixed properly as I have a gas water heater in my garage where the car is kept they ensured me it was fine. I still had reservations about driving the car being stranded or it catching on fire when I received it back the third time. I was right because when I received it back not even two days later the smell permeated my house and garage and the car would not start. I had to call them and get it towed again. This will now be their fourth attempt in fixing my car. All three times they have given my car back I was so afraid of driving it I only moved the car to go to work and back home. According to them they did not have the right tool to apply the fuel pump in the first place and this is what caused the leak. I have reached out to american Honda through email and calls with no response.

Last night my dashboard lost electricity for about 2 seconds and my engine stalled. I lost power steering control. After 2 seconds, electrical components of the dashboard returned to normal, as did the power steering and engine, and everything was fine. This morning, I drove on a street & smoke entered the cabin area of the car & I pulled over immediately. Opened the hood and the battery (positive terminal) was fully engulfed in flames. A gentleman put out the fire with water from the gas station. My battery is 1/4 melted, due to the fire. Other plastic parts of the engine are also slightly melted. I called gardena Honda (in los angeles ca) and they told me my 2016 Honda Accord was not part of the battery sensor recall but the service person told me that she had seen my email and forwarded it to her supervisor, and that she would speak to him to see what they could do. She told me that her supervisor said to immediately bring it into the gardena, ca Honda dealership. Upon arrival the service people told me they would definitely be charging me at least $160 for a diagnosis. I then explained to them that I was misled, as when I initially called I was told that she would check to see what they could do and that she would call me back. At no time did she say I would be charged for anything. Instead, she mislead me by saying she had spoken to her supervisor and that he said to bring it in immediately. They mislead me, wasted my time, and are putting people's lives in danger as although my vehicle (2016 Honda Accord with VIN is apparently not part of the recall, my car's battery caught fire and I am sure other people's car's will also catch fire. The recall should be expanded beyond the current list. The consumer stated a metal piece intended to hold the battery in place loosened and came in contact with the positive terminal of the battery causing the failure.

I have a touring trim of the Honda Accord 2016, meaning it has a V6 engine. At around 38,000 miles, the starter started acting up. When I try to start it, it makes a grinding noise and won't start. I lived with it for a little bit because I'm usually able to get it to start after a couple of attempts. I bought a brand new starter from Honda, installed it, and the car worked perfectly again. It started every time. 1 week later and the issue started happening again. It doesn't happen as often, but it shouldn't be happening at all. It's a brand new starter and I'm having the same exact issue as before. It happens like once a day now. The old starter was giving me issues every other time I tried to start the car. Won't be long before the same happens with this brand new one.
