Carpet keeps peeling away from under the plastic rocker panel trim on the passenger side of vehicle. Looks like someone cut the carpet too short and you can see the clips for the rocker panel trim molding. JUNK!
Update from Jun 5, 2019: Dealer sent the car to an upholstery shop. Padding was added under the carpet. The carpet stays in place and the clips are no longer exposed.
Update from Feb 4, 2020: January 2020 noticed while vacuuming the vehicle, the carpet has once again pulled away from under the plastic trim.
When a passenger gets into the vehicle, the pressure from their feet/legs pushing down on the carpet causes the carpet to pull away from the plastic trim for 2 reasons. Reason # 1 - The carpet is too short and doesn't go far enough under the plastic trim to allow for movement. Reason # 2 - Not enough padding under the carpet, it needs to be raised up (thicker) to prevent the carpet from wanting to pull away from the plastic trim.
