My low tire pressure warning light comes on every few weeks. When I first got my Accord in 2016, I took car to dealer several times. Only one time was one tire low in pressure. Every other time dealer did some magic, reset I think, and sent me on my way. After a while, with the help of the internet, I learned how to reset it myself. It listed as calibrate under vehicle settings.
The most scary time it happened was going down a major highway at 70 mph and not knowing if there was a real problem. Not until our trip was interrupted by a panic search for a gas station did we determine it was another false alarm.
I wish there was a way to turn this useless thing off! I know the intention is good; but, I'm tired of resetting. it obviously it doesn't work and Now I ignore it completely, so what use is it?

The Tire Pressure Icon comes on when all tires are fine. The very first time this happened about 3 months ago we did have a low tire with a nail in it.. So now when it comes on we get really stressed. When we get it to the local Big O tire shop, the tire pressure is fine. This is now the third time this has happened in the last month.
Have had this car since last year brand new. A couple weeks into it the problem started. Honda rep saw it when I went to get my other key and fixed it. Not a month later it happened again. Went to tire shop numerous times to be told tires are fine. There are no nails, pressure is fine as well. I love Hondas, I have a pilot that when this happens, it may be a nail or low tire pressure and fix and move on. I just want to turn this light off forever. It is truly useless and only scare my wife.
The light comes on when I start the car and remains on until I turn off the ignition. I have checked all 4 tires with two tire pressure gauges, and all the tires are 1lb below recommended pressure, which is precisely where they were when I drove the car off the lot 3 1/2 months ago.
It hardly seems worthwhile to make an appointment at a dealership and then wait 2 or 3 hours for either a software fix or removal of the system. Damned irritating.
Update from Oct 6, 2016: I spoke with the lead mechanic at my Honda dealership, who tells me that what trips the light is the inside diameter of the tire: when there is less pressure in the tire the diameter is smaller. So, a fix is to inflate a pound or two above recommended pressure. We also noted that my cheapo gauges read about 1 1/2 lbs lower than his shop gauge. If additional incidents occur, I will post again; however, in the meantime I'm happy, particularly because I think the tire life will be longer at 35lb rather than 33.
The TPMS light just came on - again! this time it says it's a failure. I added air to those tires less than a week ago. It shouldn't say failure. It shouldn't come on at all, especially since i'm 1 psi above the max recommended.
