CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2014 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

I noticed that brakes were not working properly and 4 different warning lights came out at the same time(ABS, brake, vsa, electronic power steering), I went to braman Honda dealer located at 7000 coral way miami, fl.33155 on 11/20/17, they changed vsa modulator and they charged me $1263.09. Since this have to do with safety and the vehicle only had 29,000miles, I decided to contact american Honda but they did not help me to pay for the repair because the warranty was expired. I really would like someone to investigate this issue and call for safety recall asap since I could be dead. I know that many other Honda from same year are reporting same complaint. Thanks in advance.

The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact heard an abnormal squeaking noise coming from the vehicle. When turning the steering wheel, there was an abnormal chiming noise. The contact also noticed bubbles on the windshield, which eventually cracked, and the exterior paint was bubbling. Additionally, the suspension and engine made abnormal cracking and hissing noises. The vehicle was taken to rick case Honda (157000 rick case Honda way, davie, fl 33331) where it was diagnosed that the squeaking noise was due to the transmission needing to be replaced. I was driving in the left hand lane on the highway and the steering went stiff. The steering warning light came on. The car had no power steering. I moved into the right hand lane, exited the highway and made it home. I didn't have an accident but the car was extremely hard to steer, especially at slower speeds. When I restarted the car the next day, the warning light was off and the power steering worked. I then took the car to the dealership and they said there was a fault code for the steering. They couldn't duplicate the problem so they erased the fault code, rebooted the computer and said it might fix the problem but if not the eps (electronic power steering) rack would need to be replaced for the estimated cost of $2140. The Accord had 60,900 miles on it when this malfunction occurred; 235 miles later, I lost power steering again and had the repair done.

While driving my power steering went out making it hard to move the wheel and very difficult to turn a corner. The eps light on dashboard lit up. I pulled off to the side of the road and turned off car, then turned it back on and power steering worked. The next day the same thing happened. I had my car towed to a Honda dealership and they tried several times to duplicate the problem. They finally got it to happen again. First removed a remote starter, thought that would fix it. I picked up my car and while driving at high speed on highway it happened again. Brought it back to the dealer and they say the next thing is to replace power steering column for $2200. They are not even sure if this will solve the problem. Very dangerous and I see that other people have also reported this problem

I was on my way to la driving my 2014 Honda Accord LX, southbound on hwy 5. after about 3 hours of driving, I was in the right lane with both hands on the wheel, cruise control on going about 72 mph when the car suddenly veered to the left. I tried to slow down with the brake and fought with the car trying to get it to go straight however the car was out of control. I tried to turn the steering wheel to the right to stop the car from going to the left however the car would not cooperate and was all over the road, both lanes. It continued to swerve left into the right lane causing it to spin backwards off the road and into the dirt. I still was unable to stop the car as it continued then rolled over. I was upside down and trapped in my car. My feet were under the steering wheel and my body was lengthwise across the passenger seat....my seat belt still on. I unbuckled and tried to open the door which I could not open. My cell phone was on a charger and was still within reach so I immediately called 911 (9:35am) and told dispatch I was in an accident and another motorist had already called it in. The chp officer was able to pull the door open. I had a towel on the passenger seat which was now under me so I handed it to him to lay over the glass, I was then able to crawl out of my car. My hands were bleeding especially one spot on my left hand that wouldn't stop so the officer got out his emergency bag and handed me gauze to put on my hand. Eventually the bleeding stopped. The chp said he has seen accidents like mine and the outcome was not good. 2014 Honda Accord are under investigation for power steering issues. Complaints state 'car pulling to the left'. (carproblemzoo.com) medical issues: Whiplash, soft tissue injury to neck and back, cuts to hands and left arm, bruises to left arm, thigh and knee. Was unable to upload pictures.

While driving the eps indicator came on and the power steering became inoperable. Took the 2014 Accord to the Honda world dealership where a error code 53-01 was recorded. Honda world dealership in louisville ky said they could find nothing wrong. Relearned the torque sensor position. Worked ok from 6-2-2017 to 6-11-2017. While driving the eps indicator came on and the power steering became inoperable again on 6-11-2017. Will take back into the Honda world dealership. This is a safety issue that is well documented. Honda does not seem to want to correct a safety issue in the production of the Accord.

My 2014 Honda Accord ex-L was parallel parked in a neighborhood, I turned it on and started to turn the steering wheel to the left to exit the parking space. The first turn of the steering wheel had no problem, but as I pressed on the accelerator I moved 5 feet forward and then I heard a series of clicking noises coming from the dashboard and the steering became impossibly difficult to turn, and the electronic power steering (eps) light on the dashboard illuminated. I tried to turn my vehicle off and on again, but every time I turned the car on, there were a series of clicks and the steering would remain extremely difficult to turn with the eps light staying lit. I had to have the car towed, and the Honda dealership told me the eps control unit failed and was replaced. I had driven over 100 miles that day on busy highways at high speeds and if this failure would have happened any other time throughout the day I most certainly would have gotten into an accident.

Loss of power steering while turning at a curve. Well known road, in my neighborhood, up a hill. Drive it daily. To avoid hitting, climbed on curb, , took entire strength I had to put vehicle back in straight line. As a result car suffered minor damage, I pulled some muscles I never knew I had. I barely avoided hitting the a billboard sign head on. I am grateful for there being no pedestrians on the sidewalk, as it is close to an elementary school. Fluid leaked from car afterwards. I never had issues with the car prior, had it for a year, a brand new lease. Honda dealership said all the damage is from the impact to curb. Cannot find faults. Dangerous situation.

The power steering failed while driving almost causing a collision. Had to restart the car to have the power steering kick back on. Has failed multiple times since requiring multiple restarts to (5 or six restarts of the car to kick on) took it to the dealership (grainger Honda-savannah ga) on 9/10/2015. Told me they could not reproduce the symptom through 50+ miles of driving. No further action would be take and they would wash the car and give me a tank of gas for my trouble. This is a huge safety concern for my family.

I started my car in park while on a hill with emergency brake on. The car started moving a second or two before I released the emergency brake. Immediately, I lost my power steering and brakes. I stopped the car by putting on the emergency brake and putting the trans mission in park. The total trip was about 100 yards. I noticed that 5 or 6 warning lights were on including the battery. Then I quickly turned the engine off. I waited for about two minutes and restarted the engine and embarked on a 25 mile trip home without further incident.

I was driving home from work and without warning I felt my vehicle difficult to turn as I prepared to make a left turn. I looked at the instrument panel and notice my electric power steering indicator light on. I applied excessive effort to get the vehicle to turn and manage to stop in a parking lot where, I turned the vehicle off and started the engine again correcting the problem for a short period. The next morning while driving to work I encountered the same situation almost causing me to hit a vehicle and crash into a pond. Updated 9/15/15.... updated 09/30/15 updated 11/07/2017

The engine seized just froze and died. This was happening intermittently when I was making any kind of sharp turn. On the second to last occurrence 4/12/15 it failed to start and was completely dead when I turned the ignition key 5 times. On the 6th, it miraculously started. When I was pulling into the dealership the following day to have it looked at the engine seized again and it was stuck for a scary moment. The service dept immediately open the hood and pointed out*** a known common manufacturing flaw near the battery, where the bolt for the battery randomly loses contact with the source. He showed me were it "wobbles out of place- seizing the entire car completely!! this happened several times when I made uturns, turned corners, and pulled in or out of parking spots. How could this potentially deadly flaw be ignored??!! I was terrified! the real horror is that this very dealership did an oil change the week prior and no one corrected this problem!!! I bought this car brand new from them in Nov. 2014.!!! this is true negligence. I am furious. I had brought the car in twice prior to this to have the car looked over because it is my fourth new Accord, and I new it was not right within the first month. Please help. I am afraid for my safety and life. I am terrified to drive this car. [xxx] car was leased in late November 2014 from cramer Honda of venice and they have been unwilling to address my complaints in a satisfactory way.
