CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.
For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.
Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2014 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

The steering is tight on the sharper turns such as parking and reversing the car. The steering wheel seems to be jammed and requires force to turn it. I bought the vehicle from the Honda dealer in 2017 and it has only 40,000 miles on it.
Electric power steering keeps going out randomly. Sometimes for days sometimes I can restart it. Already had it into Honda they said they fixed a broken harness wire; tried charging me $900 for that I got it reduced to $600. Still having power steering issues. It some kind of electrical problem I think. Really dangerous to drive. Also not as random to have the fcw/ldw system go out.
In November 2019 I was involved in and accident because the steering failed. The air bag also broke my neck. The person that I hit was also injured. No one ever inspected the car. My Insurance Company told my lender that it is still impounded.
Driving on expressway steering in my vehicle stop functioning, my car veered into a guard rail, almost causing myself and my passenger to lose our lives. We a suffering from severe pain and injuries.

After driving 180 miles on the highway at approximately 65-70 mph going downhill, the steering wheel started to shake violently side to side without any warning. We did not hit anything. It only lasted a few seconds. The car did not go out of the lane, but it was very frightening for myself, and my wife in the front passenger seat. The Honda Dealer checked the car and could not duplicate the problem, or find a Digital Trouble Code. We have never had any problem with this car prior to this instance.
I've been to Honda twice to get an alignment in 1 month, but for some reason it seems that the car continues to pull to the right. A few days ago I came across and article mentioning issues with Honda steering wheels, so I'm wondering if my car has the same issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle and the steering functionality returned. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Apple Honda (1375 County Rd 58, Riverhead, NY 11901 (631) 727-0555) where it was diagnosed with needing the power steering rack to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

The vehicle sped up by itself with the steering wheel turning right inadvertently, then crashed into two parked vehicles. The air bags deployed. The contact sustained injuries however, no medical treatment was received. No police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence then to a body shop. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact manually steered the vehicle to the side of the roadway. The contact's husband arrived at the scene and drove the vehicle to the residence with manual steering only. The contact took the vehicle to mcconnell Honda (2840 eastern blvd, montgomery, al 36116, (334) 271-2500) to be diagnosed. The mechanic determined that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. I was making a left turn and my vehicle steering wheel lost power and my headlights start to blink rapidly. I almost collapsed into another vehicle that was parked on the side street
Steering wheel suddenly locked up on me as I was driving down a 2 lane city street. Conditions were dry, and was in a residential area, so speed limit was 35. Upon not being able to steer the car I ended up hitting a cable line wire, and was spun into the front yard of some townhomes. I ended up also hitting some large rocks and landing in between 2 large trees. Upon coming to a stop, I then realize that the impact had also caused my side airbags to deploy. Due to the loud crash one of the residents came out to see what had happened as I had landed outside of her homes window. I then contacted the local police department, who came and did a report and contact a local towing Agency as the car was not drivable.
I have 4 warning lights on the dash brake, traction, steering and tire pressure warning lights. I was told that it has to due with a faulty ABS control module. The part has been sold out for some time. When I talked to the gentleman at the shop he told me that a lot people have been having a problem with this. The light are always on the car drives fine but I'm worried because it controls all of the safety associated with the car.

The vehicle was taken to cambridge Honda (275 fresh pond pkwy, cambridge, MA 02138) where the failure was diagnosed as a vsa modulator failure, however the vsa modulator part was on backorder. The contact informed the manufacturer of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact back to the dealer since the part was on backorder. No further assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 86,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I AM INQUIRING ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE. WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, OR PARK, SPORT I CANNOT SEE THE LIGHT ON THE SYSTEM. IT CONSTANTLY BLINKS LIKE IT'S STUCK. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS UP NUMEROUS TIMES TO DIFFERENT HONDA DEALERS. I AM IN THE MILITARY AND ACTIVE DUTY SO I USE MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE FOR WORK. IT ALSO HAS CONNECTION ISSUES WITH MY BLUETOOTH WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT MY PHONE OR NEED TO TAKE A PHONE CALL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW YEARS AND I STILL HAVE MY DOCUMENTATION AND RECEIPTS FOR ALL THE HONDAS AND SERVICE DEALERS THAT HAVE PREFORMED SERVICES ON MY CAR AND IT NEVER GETS FIXED OR RESOLVED AND DATES BACK ALL THE WAY FROM 2016-2020. THERE HAS BEEN TIMES WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON IN THE MORNING AND THE TEMPERATURE AND SCREENS ARE ALL SCRAMBLED AS WELL. I ADDED ALL MY RECEIPTS AND I HAVE SPENT OVER $6,007.23 TO BE EXACT ON MY CAR REPAIRS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION FOR THE ELECTRICAL ERRORS THAT KEEP HAPPENING. 2014 Honda Accord had vsa, ABS, tire pressure and eps (steering) lights all come on at random and turn off at random. There is also a loss of steering accuracy at low speeds (lower than 5mph) on full lock. ABS would engage under braking at low speeds - at times when the ABS was not necessary to help the stopping of the vehicle, as well and engage and random times (10-25mph roughly). Honda dealership wants $1920 to fix the issue, and stated that they suggest not to drive the vehicle until the problem is fixed due to it being a safety issue. I feel this is indeed a safety issue for not only the driver, but others on the road. I am making this complaint so that both Honda and the NHTSA can understand that this is happening and can correct it and recall it. If the us government mandates (since Sept 1, 2013) cars must have ABS and electronic stability control (Honda's calls it vsa) than how is this okay to let Honda on the road with these failures. At the high price to fix this issue I doubt many Honda owners are willing to afford it.
