CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2014 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

Honda starter replaced under 36K miles but out of warranty by timeframe. Honda refuses T reimburse for the replacement starter eventhough they were notified before the vehicle reached 36K miles. The 2014 Honda Accord V6 had the same issue and a service bulletin was issued where the starter was replaced (https://www.cars.com/articles/2013-2015-Honda-Accord-crosstour-starter-issue-1420684480836/ ) this seems to be an ongoing issue for vehicles that are not within this service bulletin but Honda will not repair doesn't seem fair to the consumer that they are aware of this problem and leave us to fight to try to get them to do whats right. This will be my last Honda.

I have been doing the service with Honda of concord since I bought the car from them since 2015. My car tires got bursted this year(2017) and I went with my insurance through Honda of concord collision center to fix the same. During Jan 2017, the Honda checked all my tires as per my insurance fixes only 2 tires and never reported any issues with my other 2 tires. Even the service station, where I had been doing my service since 2015, did not suggest or did my tire alignment. However, proactively, I did my tire alignment @ 26000 miles, when Honda of concord collision center replaced my tires. After that I have done tire rotations, routine check with oil fills with Honda of concord service station. Since my service, in the past one month, I had my TPMS light on for 3 times, every time I called Honda, they asked me to reset it myself in the car, which I did. But, I felt before my warranty expires around 36 K miles, I called in Honda for appointment Sep 2017. Today, when I dropped my car, Honda service guys called me and said, I own responsibility in changing my tires which has wear and tear cover till 60 K miles and I should take responsibility to change brakes at rear end, fluids, etc etc.. when I asked about my warranty on tires and brakes.. they were reluctant and said its not safe to drive all of a sudden. I had given car for service only a month back, where I asked them to check everything and I believe, they did not do anything, since they are reporting me now to drive as unsafe and not at the time of tire rotation or checks. This is very bad and dint expect from Honda

The affected vehicles may have been assembled with improperly torqued connecting rod bolts, wich can cause the engine to lose power or leak oil. Loss of engine power may result in a vehicle stall, increasing the risk of crash.if the engine leaks oil in the proximity of hot engine or exhaust components, there is an increased risk of a fire. Hondas number for this recall is JP2.I see some oil between block cylinder and head of my car.

Drove the car without a key it. We started the car with the keyless start, and my son had to go inside to get something in the house but forgot to grab the keys to leave (someone else locked the house door) the car was on still running and we drove off. Now we are stranded! I only realized he didn't grab the key when I tried looking for them after we stopped. Honda says they do not have anything that makes this preventable. You should not be allowed to drive off from your keys! what if I was in a remote area of the mountains with no cell signal?! this is very unsafe.

My car was parked in my driveway when I came out in the morning after a thunderstorm and the sunroof and windows were half way down, car is soaked. It's a 2014 Honda Accord and I told the dealer mechanic, they said it was my fault I must have hit the lock button on my car keypad twice, but I lock the car from the handle and leave my keys on a key ring on the wall not in my purse. He also told me water wouldn't hurt the leather seats. They didn't even help me dry my car out.this is the second time my car has done this and theirs no way to fix it, I will be trading it in on something that's not Honda before winter comes and I end up with snow in my car. If you are considering buying a Honda, don't ! I thought this wouldn't happen to me, that it was few and far between but it did happen, twice!

I bought the car certified used from Honda. 2 days after purchase, my son pulled into the dealership (to have cosmetic work done) and the cars engine "locked up".( the car salesman was present at this time) the car just "died". the dealer said they would recharge the battery, as that was the problem. I asked for them to replace the battery, so if this happened again, we would know 100%, that it was something else causing the car to lose all power while driving. Less then 3 weeks later, 6 days before owning the car for a full month, my son is driving the car, and while in the middle of a 4 way intersection, the vehicle loses all power and stops dead in the middle of the road. The first time, the vehicle was pulling forward into a parking space, the second, driving forward with a slight turn. After arguing with the dealer that this was in fact a huge safety problem, and I nor my son felt safe in the vehicle, did they agree to buy the vehicle back, if I was willing to buy another vehicle from them.

I was on my way to la driving my 2014 Honda Accord LX, southbound on hwy 5. after about 3 hours of driving, I was in the right lane with both hands on the wheel, cruise control on going about 72 mph when the car suddenly veered to the left. I tried to slow down with the brake and fought with the car trying to get it to go straight however the car was out of control. I tried to turn the steering wheel to the right to stop the car from going to the left however the car would not cooperate and was all over the road, both lanes. It continued to swerve left into the right lane causing it to spin backwards off the road and into the dirt. I still was unable to stop the car as it continued then rolled over. I was upside down and trapped in my car. My feet were under the steering wheel and my body was lengthwise across the passenger seat....my seat belt still on. I unbuckled and tried to open the door which I could not open. My cell phone was on a charger and was still within reach so I immediately called 911 (9:35am) and told dispatch I was in an accident and another motorist had already called it in. The chp officer was able to pull the door open. I had a towel on the passenger seat which was now under me so I handed it to him to lay over the glass, I was then able to crawl out of my car. My hands were bleeding especially one spot on my left hand that wouldn't stop so the officer got out his emergency bag and handed me gauze to put on my hand. Eventually the bleeding stopped. The chp said he has seen accidents like mine and the outcome was not good. 2014 Honda Accord are under investigation for power steering issues. Complaints state 'car pulling to the left'. (carproblemzoo.com) medical issues: Whiplash, soft tissue injury to neck and back, cuts to hands and left arm, bruises to left arm, thigh and knee. Was unable to upload pictures.

For a couple of weeks my Honda Accord exl (2014) has been giving me trouble when I try to start it up. I put in a new battery about 2 months ago and had it tested several times. At random times when I try to start my vehicle it only turns on the console and not the engine, after I turn it off to try to start it up again the brake pedal seems to get a bit locked and it isn't as easy to press down on it.

We have had our2014hondaaccordfor just one year. All of our family members have been hit in the head and back by the trunk door. The trunk does not stay open on even a modest grade, but does not fall down for several seconds, close down suddenly with a light wind not allowing people to lean into the trunk before it hits them. Injury to death could happen anytimes from the trunk lid lock. I have owned 10 cars and have never had one where the trunk lid will not remain up.

Hanging a handicap placard from the auto dimming rear view mirror caused a wiring harness short. The short was intermmitent at first and caused a partial loss of accessories (ac, radio, etc.) while driving. Within 5 miles of the loss of accessories, a hard short occurred and the vehicle could not be started. Luckily the vehicle had been parked when this condition occurred dealer refused to cover repair under warranty indicating that the condition was caused by an outside source (the handicap placard). I appealed to american Honda 7/13/16 and the same decision was upheld.

My 2014 Honda Accord has been leaving me stranded because the car kills the battery. It started last year and the dealer said the battery was fine, and left it at that. Now a year later the batter is still testing good but the car has left me 3 times in one day in 2 different occasions. I permanently have to cart jumping cables just I. case. I'm so sad to see that I'm paying and I've been such a faithful Honda client and this is really devestating.

My car has a lane watch camera that engages when using your right blinker. When making an outbound call, you say the name of the person you are calling and then you receive a verbal notification "calling _____" if between this time and the time it takes for the system to initiate the call and dial tone starts you have to make a right turn, which engages the lane watch camera, the call is canceled. Once you've turned the corner and the camera has turned off, it will again say "calling ____" however it does not perform the call and just sits on that screen. If you live in a city where frequent turns are a normality, if you're trying to do so and make outbound calls it's very difficult and distracting as multiple attempts are often needed to make the call. I've since turned off the lane watch camera to prevent it from disrupting outbound calls.

On a Sunday morning, I started my car in a driveway - turned on the heater and allowed the car to warm up. When I began to back out of the driveway there was a bunch of thick smoke coming from the hood of the car. Then, I heard a loud pop sound and turned off the engine and quickly jumped out of the car. A mechanic looked at my car and determined that the water pump froze which caused the alternator belt to break. The next day, once my car was towed to the dealership, the determination was confirmed by the service department at the dealership. But, as to this day - I don't know why it happened. Do I have a lemon or will this happen again" could this happen while I'm driving causing a horrible accident" after all, this car only had 18,571 miles on it and I bought it new on March 9, 2014. I am very concerned because of the unknown future safety risk.
