CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2014 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

THIS IS A LAWSUIT TO HONDA for NOT RECALLING AND FIXING the issue that THEY SOLD US BRAND NEW CARS WITH WELL KNOWN ISSUES i will contact my Family attorney since theres hundreds of others with the SAME ISSUES... obviously HONDA ISNT AS GOOD AS THEY USED TO BE.. A strange thing occurred while I was dropping my grandchildren to school on 3/30/22 at 8:45 AM.? After dropping off the kids, as I started the car in the car drop off lane, there was no acceleration despite me hitting the accelerator, the car would not accelerate, and cars exiting the school parking lot backed up behind my car. Suddenly, the car accelerated in an uncontrolled manner on its own, brakes did not work, and all warning lights on the side of the dashboard came on.? I steered the car towards an empty area and was ready to crash it into an obstacle to bring it to a stop.? I tried to put the car in park but despite putting it in park, the car continued its acceleration forward. I also tried to turn off the car by hitting the start/stop button but the car would not turn off. The car accelerated uncontrollably for at least 0.3 miles. After this uncontrolled and automatic acceleration, the car came to a stop. I had the car towed to the Honda dealership. Honda dealership advisor told me that there was no recall on this model.? However, a quick search on car message boards shows that this phenomenon of sudden and uncontrolled acceleration has been reported on 2014, and 2015 and 2016 Honda Accord model year cars as well. Fortunately, no children or their parents in the school were injured this time. ? I hope you will direct the Honda dealership to identify and fix the problem.? I am afraid to drive the car without understanding the reason for this frightening experience.? Dealership address is 675 State Avenue Emmaus PA 18049 Phone number 610-965-1365 Associate who is helping me is Michael Paxos

I am having starter issues with my vehicle. I have taken great care of this vehicle and started having issues with the car last year. I replaced the starter because it would not start back, if I turned the car off while running errands ( shopping or filling up with gas). I have now replaced the starter 3 times, and replaced the ignition switch and batteries. I have run every possible diagnostic at the dealership and at local mechanics in my city. I am concerned that I am reading that many drivers across the USA are facing this issue and the dealership cannot fix it or the local repair shops.

After a minor accident, once turned off, the car would not restart for about 20 minutes. All dash lights flicker and there is a clicking sound. Insurance company will not cover assessment or any repair as they say it cannot be linked to the loss, even though I never had issues with this prior to the accident and it was reported in my accident claim. No issues show on a diagnostic test, but I continue to experience issues with the start button connection. I can hold the brake and press the start button but either have to hold it for 20 - 30 seconds while it clicks or goes dim (while you can hear things trying to happen in the engine), or the brake/start button must be applied multiple times to get it to start. I also think that power is beginning to flicker during driving and now I'm really afraid. I have 105,000 miles.

The car does not start consistently. I have replaced the battery two times and the starter. I will turn the key and the engine will not crank over, sometimes it will start up 30 seconds or a minute later after I attempt a couple of times. The Honda mechanic forum is stating that this is a very common problem from owners of this ninth gen Honda Accord.

The failing starter is a well known issue among the Honda Accord community. The starter begins to fail prematurely and eventually will fail to start the car leaving the driver and or their passengers stranded. This can happen at anytime/anywhere the vehicle needs to be started. There is a current tsb to replace the starter and turn the flex plate one bolt hole over. Many times this happens after any warranty has expired leaving the owner to pay out of pocket a large amount of money.

To whom it may concern; I had an appointment for today (02/13/2021) at Honda of milford in the state of Connecticut in usa for safety recall. I was denied for a service on safety recall after I have asked the receptionist at the service desk when I he will be able to help me while I was waiting in line more than few minutes. The receptionist was using obscene language when I was waiting in line in an unprofessional manner. Another employee of this dealership has also involved and asked me to leave the property because I asked him who he was. I believe I was treated unfairly and denied a service for safety recall after simply asking for an assistance while waiting in line. Please, regard my complaint into consideration. Thank you, respectfully yours

February 13, 2021 around 11:45 I was driving with my son and his friend & my dog with me, I about to make a left in intersection when I hit the gas pedal I hear a noise under my car (boom) then the car won't go foward even though I hit gas. Then I put in reverse it's the same thing it won't stop the car are still moving backward so I hit the brake and the car stop in the middle of intersection. So I put the gear in "P" park position but the car are still moving down the hill. Slowly by slowly backwards and then I hit the snow on the side road that's why the car stop. I'm so nervous on that moment even my son and his friend are scared.

The car will not start, but only sometimes. When you push the button, the power comes on and it clicks but doesn't start. Several lights come on including starter system. It usually will start after a few tries but last night would not at all and I was stranded in a parking lot. There are several complaints in the Honda forums and this was recalled and fixed for the 2013's but not the 2014"S.

Honda known service bulletin- affecting 2013-2016 Accord and 2013-15 cross tours, the starter grinds and spins at start up, car does not start. Honda's possible causes: The clearance between the starter motor gear and the torque converter ring gear is not optimal. Shouldn't this be a recall" other than my car not starting and the cost near $1,000 to repair, can this cause a fire"

On October 31, the axle on my care snapped in half. I was in a shopping center area, trying to make a turn and the car would not move forward or backward. I learned that the axle was broken when I had the car towed to a Honda dealership. I had the car repaired in the amount of $312.49. The mechanic told me that this was a freak incident and that it was a defect in the axle because it should not have broken in that manner. I want Honda to reimburse for the cost to repair. It might have been more of a serious situation if this had happened on the highway.

My 2014 Honda Accord coupe ex-L V6 has 58.000 miles. I recently had my starter replaced and torque converter adjusted. I was informed that this is a issue Honda is aware of and has created a bulletin (16-002). This appears to be a common issue, and why wouldn't there be a recall issued. It's clear this is a manufacturing and equipment issue in Accord V6 2013-2016 and crosstour V6 2013-15. Why is the repair at the consumers cost instead of Honda?
