CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Updated on 3/6/22: I (contact) own a 2013 Honda Accord. Contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the steering wheel inadvertently lost power steering functionality. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle by forcefully maneuvering the steering wheel. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the power steering gear box needed to be replaced. Honda Dartmouth in Massachusetts let the contact know that the car would fall under Service Bulletin 15-056 Warranty Extension: EPS Torque Sensor (DTC 53-01 or DTC 53-02) as the power steering gear box assembly needed to be replaced but, the car did not pull the code when plugged in. The car VIN number did pull as eligible under this warranty. Contact called Honda manufacturing and they stated they would not do anything for the contact as the car did not pull the code DTC53-01 or DTC 53-02 and that the cost of repair would be at the contacts expense.
