CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

On fri Sept 29th, 2017 I had an sua (sudden unintended acceleration) in my 2013 Honda Accord that devastated part of an office building and wrecked my car. I was in an office park parking lot and backed up, hit a 3 foot high concrete bollard, was annoyed, put the car in drive, felt an odd lurch as though the bumper was stuck on something although it was not. I put my foot on the accelerator and at that moment the car rapidly accelerated to what felt like 30 or 40 miles an hour. I tried to brake but it felt as though there was no pressure under my foot. I gripped the steering wheel in terror and steered the car away from other parked cars and into a concrete wheelchair ramp with rails and an office building. The air bag went off. The concrete ramp and office building stopped the car in its tracks. I put it in park and got out. I'm doing ok but mostly very very grateful I didn't hurt or kill anyone. Minor airbag burn on my arm and a contusion to my knee. I feel the airbag only came out a little and hit my left arm, not the rest of my body. But I could be wrong about that. I'm glad because as a physical therapist I've seen some nasty air bag injuries. Also I did not have my seat belt on because I often put it on as I leave a parking lot. Not a good idea, but also no nasty seat belt injury. Just stiff arms, painful left knee and neck, a few days later. I realize everyone is going to say I had the foot on the accelerator but I was at a dead stop when I put the car in drive to accelerate and seriously, after almost 40 years of driving, I have never felt anything like this terror and loss of control. The policeman who came to the scene would testify to the fact that I was completely sane and sober at the time. Today, we heard the car will be appraised as totaled. Good news meaning it will no longer be driven.

But the drivers steering wheel air bag did not deploy. There was a passenger in front seat and his air bag did deploy. The side curtin on the passenger's side did not deploy. Both passenger's where wearing seat belts at the time of accident. Question is why did the drivers air bag not deploy?

On June 26, 2015 we discovered the passenger side air bags had deployed some time during the night on this 2013 Honda Accord. My daughter had an accident in early May 2015, but the damage was minor. On the driver's side front. Around the same time, her mirror got knocked off her passenger door. I contacted Honda, who eventually said they had determined it was not a defect and that I needed to pursue a claim with my auto insurance. My case number with Honda is [xxx]. I made a claim with my insurance company, progressive. That claim number is [xxx]. I sent NHTSA an email complaint at that time, but never heard back. Today I received an airbag recall notice on a 2012 Honda Accord my youngest daughter owns. I am very disappointed that NHTSA has not responded. I ultimately paid $2,984.60 in repairs for the airbags. Honda airbags have a known airbag problem. I think NHTSA should make them reimburse me. I have attached a copy of the invoice. My email is [xxx] my phone (cell) is [xxx]. my mailing address is [xxx] please help. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My car is making this "clicking" sound when I turn the wheel. Honda knows this is a problem because it is on their service bulletin. My car has 46,000 miles on it so I would have to pay out of pocket for a problem with the car known by Honda! I think this is a load of crap.

My vehicle struck another vehicle in front of me from behind. Airbag lights came on yet did not deploy. Impact caused damage to my chest by the seatbelt. It caused a tissue expander implanted in my right breast to be damaged and ripped out the places stitched to me. The te was there as part of a breast cancer reconstruction process. Surgery was required to remove and replace the te. The front end of the vehicle was damaged, sensors needed replacement, and seatbelt structure also needed replacement.

I hit another vehicle from behind.it was a very hard in pact but the air bag didn't come out until I tried to open the door to get out of the car.the air bag hit the right side of my face, neck, shoulder and breast.I contacted the Honda dealer and they said its not a big deal and must of pinched a line to the sensor. The paint and body shop said they have never heard of this happening. The insurance wants to fix it for 10,000 and I'm very scared to get my car back and drive it. While driving alone into a marked space in a public parking lot, my foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator. The vehicle then accelerated into the concrete base of a light pole. Immediately, the vehicle bumper crumpled, the left side of the hood crumpled, and the passenger side air bag activated. There was no one except myself in the vehicle and the driver side airbag did not activate. At this date, November 10, I have no idea how much damage was done to the vehicle.

I contacted pohanka Honda in salisbury Maryland about the danger of the air bag exploding and causing injury to me or my family. I was told that there was a recall but it was regional and this area and my vehicle was not included. They referred me to Honda of North America and I was told that if I wanted to check out my airbag I would have to pay for the inspection. I disagree because this region becomes hot and the conditions can be as humid as Florida or other southern states. It does not make any sense. I do not think I should have to pay for the inspection or put my family in danger.
