CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

We bought this 2013 Honda Accord Ex-L with Nav brand new and has mostly been a good car, as a matter of fact, we've owned several Honda and Acura vehicles over the years and have been a long time fan. I just noticed the other day that the paint is turning loose and peeling in the crevice above the rear window. This vehicle has never had any paint or body repair and has been garaged since day one, it's obvious that there was a paint adhesion problem from the factory and the paint is turning loose and is definitely not a cause of any sort of owner negligence, etc. Honda has extended its paint warranty to seven years on a couple of different models because of lawsuits but not the Accord, even though I've seen several posts on the internet of people having the same problem with our same year and color.

After visiting Brown Honda our local dealer, they reached out to their Honda rep and they said would not do anything to help with this defect since it was beyond the 3yr/36000. All I could say and I told them if that's the way Honda takes care of their defect for a loyal customer I definitely won't purchase another Honda! Their poor customer relation will most assuredly cost them more in the long run over a few hundred dollar fix of their defect! sincerely former Honda fan. Honda buyer beware!

Purchased the vehicle new and the hood is cracking and peeling when the vehicle is only 5 years old.The car has been garaged every night since was new and I have waxed the complete vehicle every 6 Months. Honda wants me to pay $400.00 of the repair when it is a known problem on these vehicles.

If the vehicle was a 2013 Honda Civic it would be covered under the class action lawsuit but they have not been sued on the Accord yet and are refusing to completely cover the damages. I have purchased 6 new Honda and Acura vehicles since 1999 and they still refuse to pay for the repair.

I spoke to the manufacturer yesterday and requested a supervisor when they refused take care of the problem and the person at Honda just hung up on me. This is just poor business and I feel is my responsibility to let others know the way Honda is treating it's customers. It is sad that they only take care of the problem when losing a class action lawsuit.

I will not purchase another Honda vehicle due this poor customer service.

The paint chips are excessive. I take great care, but i cant believe normal wear and tear would do this. I could also understand the hood, but the driver front and back door have many chips. I feel the hemitite paint is very soft.

On my 2013 Honda Accord the bottom of the passenger door- a whole strip of paint flaked off. Honda is supposed to stand behind their name and all I have given was (your car is not under the claims that are filed for this problem). Obviously if this is a problem on other Honda models, why do they limit it to just those? Flaking paint on an almost 3 year old vehicle is ridiculous and they should fix this problem and not throw it under the wear and tear catagory. This car was not cheap and to have paint missing already is so ridiculous! If Honda does nothing about this then this will be the last time I ever purchase another one! Honda's are great cars they say- bulshit!!! I will also not stop here- I will go to corporate and ever other complaint site to tell the truth about how Honda handles problems beyond your control when obviously it is a paint problem on their end. They are choosing to use a cheaper product to paint your car, then Honda should take care of the problems that exist due to their cutting corners.

After one year we were surprised at the number of spots on the hood from paint chipping. After 2 years it looks like someone shot the front of the hood with a shotgun. Two older cars with four times the mileage (Mercury and Subaru over 100k) have no chipping like the Accord. This definitely seems like a paint issue since it is noticeably worse than I've seen in 45 years of owning cars. Of course the chips are caused by road pebbles but apparently the paint is not very good at handling that typical situation. This is not a bubbling or flaking issue. It is just unusual chipping from normal driving.

My brand new 2013 black Honda Accord paint is bubbling and chipping on my back bumper. The dealership told me that my warranty does not cover it because there happens to be a scratch on the bumper that is NOT located where the bubbling is taking place. After the dealership admitted that the paint should not be bubbling they attempted to touch up the one spot which was not done well. My touch up has dirt and dust in the paint. They said they will buff it out for me this coming Friday. They refused to take the bumper off and repaint the whole bumper because they said the scratch on the other side of the bumper cancels out the warranty, even though they admit it is a paint issue and not due to any other factor.

I am worried what will happen if my paint starts to bubble again and I've gone past the 36,000 mile warranty, I currently only have 21,000 miles on my car. The dealership promises they will help me but refuses to put it in writing?! Sounds fishy to me. I am not satisfied at all with this problem and deeply concerned for the future value of what I thought was my prized vehicle.

I purchased my Honda in 2013, and I swear their paint is the WORST! I wax my car 3 times a year and keep it in shaded spots and the highway debris has literally destroyed my hood! The car is red on top of that! I love my car but dang!

I have 3 vehicles and added a top of the line 2013 Accord Touring as a 4th - all driven under the same conditions on the same highway routes. My Armada is 8 years old now and the hood / chrome front trim look fine, BUT my 1 year old Accord, that wasn't even driven this winter, has bubbles that start out paint colored, then after car washes turn white, then 'pop' exposing metal which then very quickly rusts. The chrome trim plastic even has bubbles. Once I realized the bubbles weren't just lint or wax spots I took it to the dealer and they asked 'what I did' (?*&!)...Drive it...as cars are supposed to be perhaps?

Supposedly a rep from Honda will contact me sometime within the next month but calling Honda Corporate does no good at all. I have an Acura as well but no issues...not sure what went wrong at the Honda paint booth but this absolutely has to be fixed.

Within one week of owning my Brand new 2013 Honda Accord, the paint was chipping off the front of the car. I had a clear bra installed on the lower section and was going to have it installed on the upper section. However within one week, the rock chips were so bad even with the $400.00 clear bra it wasn't worth it. The paint is so soft. My co-worker bought a Camry a month before me and we had pretty much the same round trip to work since we lived in the same neighborhood and he had no such chips. The front of my car looks like crap!
