CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Honda Accord has a solid reputation (so far), with one very significant flaw: uncomfortable seats.
Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight.
The common theme we hear is "we never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.

My complaint is for my 2012 Honda Accord, and is almost identical to the many other complaints I have read about sunroofs exploding. Driving along at 45 mph and suddenly a loud boom, scared the living daylights out of me, the next thing I know, glass is raining down on me. I had my sunroof visor open, so the glass went everywhere, including, down my back, my hair, and of course all over the car (glad my child wasn't in the car). Also glad it was 6:15 am and there was little to no traffic out, because the noise startled me and I swerved at first, before pulling over. I called Honda customer relations, the national number, they claim they have no knowledge of this happening before, which is total BS, because I have read 100's of complaints. The complaints are almost identical to mine, "driving down the road, when suddenly a loud BOOM!, the next thing I know glass is falling all over me" Honda would not claim any knowledge or responsibility for it, I had to file a claim with my insurance co. (btw, sunroof glass is not covered under your glass coverage). The cost at the dealer is $2,000, and I have a $500.00 deductible, the dealer was nice enough to give me a free loaner car, but my concern is, what happens when I fix it, and then it happens again. Honda needs to recognize this problem, it has been happening with Accords since 2008, news stations have done investigative reports, and a Glass Expert said, it can only happen if the glass is defective. I even called Honda back to ask if they would at least cover my deductible, the answer was no. Needless to say, it will be my last Honda I purchase, car has under 50,000 miles on it, obviously they don't care about customer retention. DRV Avon, CT
