Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight.

The common theme we hear is "never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.

Brought it to the dealership for a scheduled service and asked them to figure out the problem with the gps while they had the car all day. They mentioned there would be a charge to use the computer for diagnostics and I said fine. When I was told the car was ready and I paid my large service bill I asked if they found the problem with my gps. They stated it was working now. They asked that I give them a five star rating when contacted by Honda and stated that if I couldn't to please call them first. I got into my car, started it and the gps would not load. I went back inside and told them it was going to be difficult to give them five stars when they didn't do what I asked. The service person stated that it was working when the mechanic checked and I reminded them that I had told them that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. She asked if I wanted them to hook it up to the computer and do diagnostics on it. I stated that I had asked her to do that when I dropped the car off in the morning. She said there would be a charge for this and I stated that she had said that earlier when I asked them to do it before. Some time later she came back and stated that I was all set. I asked if it was fixed, she stated that it was working. I asked what the problem was with it and if they had actually fixed it or if it just happened to be working. She stated that they had not fixed it and it would be around $700. to do so, saying the whole unit needed to be replaced. She also said that if I got the newer dvd update for the unit, that "might" take care of the problem. She gave me the bill for $95. for diagnostics that failed to diagnose the problem. I told her that I was sure she knew what kind of rating she'd get on the Honda survey. Interestingly enough, I never received the email from Honda asking me to do the survey. I've always gotten them before and I kept getting reminders of my "overdue service" that I had actually received that particular day. Anyway, really long story short....I figured out the problem myself. The DVDs player for the gps system is located in the trunk of the car without any kind of insulation around it. I live in Maine and when it's cold outside the unit doesn't work. Now that the weather is warmer, it works fine. I'm going to check with a company that installs remote starters and such to see if they can move the unit into the interior cabin area, possibly under the passenger seat.
