CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2010 Honda Accord some several significant flaws: excessive oil consumption, premature brake wear, & uncomfortable seats.

In October 2013, Honda settled a class action for excessive oil consumption which extends their V6 powertrain warranty out to 8 years & no mileage limit. However, is the inconvenience & risk of dealing with Honda on this problem worth it? We don't think so.

Premature brake wear has been a consistent problem for this Accord generation. Once again Honda settled a class action lawsuit over brake wear, but most 2010 Accords are NOT covered.

Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Unwary buyers report the seat pain is mainly only noticeable after 15-20 minutes. The common theme we hear is "never noticed this during the test drive."

I purchased this car used. After having it 2 weeks I went back to the dealership and told them that the brakes are locking up, they acted as if I said it was cold outside, no response from them whatsoever. I replaced the tires hoping that would help but it didn't.

The brakes locked up on me this morning and I slid into another car. Now I have to deal with insurance, estimates, repairs, rental cars, the other person's car repairs. This is not fair to people who work hard to have things like a car and they finally buy one only to find out the manufacturer has settled a lawsuit in regards to brakes and knows that my car is still messed up and the dealership does not care. I want my car fixed, and the brakes, and I feel that they should pay for the damages to both cars from a failing braking system.

Once again my brakes failed me on a cold day. I tried to brake 4 times and my car just kept on going until I broke for the 5th time. I actually had to cross over to on coming traffic lane to avoid hitting the cars in front of me. Thank God that there were no cars coming. Once my brakes started working again, got back in my lane and called the dealership ASAP! They got on the problem right away. The service manager Scott was backing my car out of the garage and the same thing happened to him and after the 5th time pressing on the brakes the car stop but if it hadn't he said that the car would have ran into the garage at the dealership. Thank God the car brakes went out while uder their care! He now realized how scary this situation was for me. They were so good about being concerned for my safety and taking good care of my car and me.

Accord 4 cyl

Dealer performed 15,000 mile maintenance (a little early). Front Brakes wear were at 80%, totally expected with front wheel drive and as experienced with other 6 Honda vehicles owned/leased over time. However, back brakes are at 60%!!! I understand there is a class action law suite in process for 2008/09/some 2010 Accords. If Honda does not stand behind their product, this will be the last Honda I will own/lease!!!
