CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2010 Honda Accord some several significant flaws: excessive oil consumption, premature brake wear, & uncomfortable seats.
In October 2013, Honda settled a class action for excessive oil consumption which extends their V6 powertrain warranty out to 8 years & no mileage limit. However, is the inconvenience & risk of dealing with Honda on this problem worth it? We don't think so.
Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Unwary buyers report the seat pain is mainly only noticeable after 15-20 minutes. The common theme we hear is "never noticed this during the test drive."

On my 2010 Honda Accord, occurring on all four doors, the window sweeps are melting. These are the strips that keep water from running down, into the door wells from the closed windows. The rubber strips were replaced a few years ago under warranty for this problem. Last fall, the new sweeps started to also melt down to a rubbery tar-like consistency. I complained to Honda about this defect to no avail. I was told that I would have to pay for new sweeps and for them to be installed. The impression that I received from the service person was that in warmer climate areas this is a problem. It appears that the newer Honda vehicles are not suitable for extreme weather conditions and Honda is not concerned with the situation. I have had two other older Honda vehicles in the past in the same location. Never had this happen.
2010 Honda Accord. Consumer states while driving he let down the rear windows and a loud noise and rolling vibration occurred the dealer informed the consumer the problem was due to the aerodynamics of the vehicle and there was nothing that could be done.
2010 Honda Accord crosstour. Consumer states design defect impedes proper rear view vision. The consumer stated the rear window of the vehicle has a heavy bar running horizontally in the middle of the window. The bar may have been required for the structure of the rear door, but it substantially blocked the rear vision for the driver.
