UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS: Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight. The common theme we hear is "we never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.
MY CAR HAS LITTLE OVER 70,000 AND I ALREADY REPLACED REAR BRAKE TWICE AND FRONT ONE ONCE. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO WEAR SOOO FAST .
Rear brakes went bad just outside the terms of the settlement agreement. It is a shame that an otherwise excellent vehicle has rear brakes that self destruct. They were bad again by 100,000 miles including a failed caliper on the driver side. Another $1300.
I have had numerous problems with my rear brake system. Let me start that I bought car CPO and brake pads were supposed to be new. A year later, I had problem with rear brakes. Took it to dealer. They charged me over $160.00 for cleaning and lubricating. A month and a half later - the same problem appeared again. Took it to the local mechanic. I was charged $220.00 for cleaning, rear brake pads replacement. Two and a half year later, had problem again. Rusted rear rotors that cannot be resurfaced, with both rotors and pads needing a replacement.
This is so ridiculous! Other than that I love my Honda that has been a reliable transportation for the past five years.

Purchased the vehicle used with 22,000 miles. At 46,000 had to replace the rear brake pads and rotors, $184.00. Most recently at 58,000 miles had to replace the brake pads and rotors again, 181.46.
Why!!!!! All this really needs is a proportional valve to adjust the amount of rear brake?
I bought this car new in 2009 i have put brakes on this car 3 times and the car only has 73,000 miles on it. There is something wrong with the rear brake system to wear so fast.
It was very discouraging. Squeaky brakes. Especially rear. Had trouble stopping a few times, but did not have an accident.
Had two other GM vehicles at the time, still have one of them, and the brakes have never been changed. One I sold was an 2004 and I still have a 01 Chev PU, have never had to put brakes on yet.
I was really disappointed and will not buy another Honda. It scares me to think of what can happen.
We got the recall on Airbags last year and had that fixed under warranty.
First of all, I used to love Honda Accords. I have taken good care of my car. It is mainly driven in the nice weather and is garage kept. Approximately a week ago I heard a rubbing/scraping noise from the right rear. Today I took it to the Honda dealer where I purchased it. Well, I just about had a heart attack because the car only has 21,700 (not quite 22,000) and they told me that I needed a rear caliper, rear brakes and rotors. When I spoke to the man in charge he stated that it could be from bad weather and what is used on the roads in the winter time. I rarely drive this car in the winter. I am very upset with Honda. I also like many other people on this site work hard for my money. The total charge for the work was $859.14. I cried.......I do not know if I will ever buy another Honda. SHAME ON HONDA!!!!!!!!
I got the car from a friend. He changed rear brake about two years ago (2013). I feel the brake was weak so I took the car to Rick Case Honda. They showed me the rear brake pads and rotors were almost gone. Did think the brake could go bad that quick. Must be a defect in the car.
I bought my car in 2012 and since then, I've had to replace my rotors and brake pads at least 10 times and I'm being told that my calipers need to be replaced now as well. There is no way that I should have to replace my brakes that many times. I just got my brakes done 4 months ago and now I have to replace my rotors and brakes again and prior to the last time i got them done, I had got them done 3 months prior to the last time, I can go on and on but basically I keep having to get them done! I am so upset because first of all I'm a single mom of 3 and I don't have money to keep getting my brakes done and this is dangerous driving my kids around with bad brakes all the time!!! I shouldn't have to be responsible for this, Honda should!
It's simple this car is sh*t! I have had to replace the rear brakes twice, while, I have not had to replace the front brakes yet. I have asked several technicians and the guys at Advance Auto Parts, what's the deal with these brakes? The answer I have gotten is Honda's are hard on brakes or that 2009 Honda Accord model is rough on brakes. I find it very alarming that they all tell me the same thing. Honda get your sh*t together!!!
I will never get another honda again. The most overrated cars ever. Definitely would not buy another one, and if someone gives me one, I'm selling it quickly!!!!
I have 2 of these 2009 Accords and have spent over 5 thousand dollars on brakes, rotors and calipers. The seats are uncomfortable and my car has been using a LOT of oil. Besides that I am being raped every time I bring the car into the dealer - Mohawk Honda, Schenectady, NY. $550 this time for front brake pads and rotors. WOW, the parts cost a fraction of that price, what a rip-off. I am looking at other cars and someone to fix them for a reasonable price. Any suggestions on a new car? 4 door and gas mileage is important.
This was the first of three rear brake repair/replacement. I am now dealing with three significant rear brake repairs in 3 AND A half years. This is just not reasonable. Honda should be required to compensate for excessive premature break wear which has cost me over $1400.
This was our 2nd of three rear brake pads and rotors. Also, clean and lubricate calipers. Why doesn't Honda have the integrity to contact Accord owners about this problem. Instead they leave us holding the bag when the brake system is inferior. We pay for their poor design. I am souring on Hondas.
We bought our Honda Accord ,2009 in November 2009. This is the THIRD rear calipers, brake pads and rotors. It also included both brake hoses. This is our fifth Honda but I am tired of the brake problems...had them with all our previous Hondas but the 2009 is definitely the worst. This problem should have been fixed by Honda!!!
I was driving my car and the brakes completely failed. I had to use the emergency brake to keep from going through a a red light into oncoming traffic on McKnight road in Pittsburgh.
