Put the service managerJust bought this 2007 honda accord exl with 27,000 miles. On my way home I noticed the steering seemed stiff and pulled to the right. Checked tire pressure and it only had 22 psi.in right front tire Put air in tire and drives straight now. Dealer put new tires on. But steering is still very stiff. Dealer replaced steering pump. Steering is still stiff, when stopped are going down the road. Have checked other honda accords and they steer easy. I am wondering if it could be the rack and pinon. I bought extended warranty and I hope it will cover repairs. At first the service manager said that Honda's steer harder than US made cars, but finally agreed it was not right. Put on a new pump and sent me home to drive a few days to see if would improve. Still the same.

We noticed a couple of years back that the steering of our car is really stiff. We checked the AC fluid levels also complained the Honda Customer Service at a local Honda dealership and the response we got is: "All Accords have stiff steering". this is untrue. My cousin has a 2008 Honda Accord and the steering is extremely smooth. We can feel the difference. I think that there is a major problem with my car's steering and the dealership is just deferring the problem until my car runs out of warranty.

After oil changes, we feel that the steering is relatively smoother for a 4/5 days but it gets stiff after wards.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
