This has been going on for two+ years, it's intermittent. We've replaced the battery, alternator, wires from battery to starter and alternator. Kept doing it. A tech at the Honda dealer claimed it was because we left the dome light on.... Really? Honda's have an auto-off after 30-mins of sitting undisturbed... Replaced said dome light, checked electrical system for a short... It's a complete mystery...

Anybody else having this issue?

Let me start off by saying that this "issue" had been going on for about 8 months or so. Back when it was cold, the car was very difficult to start. It would however always start (sometimes after a few attempts). Once it warmed up, subsequent starts that same day were not an issue. I had the battery tested and it was completely fine. This went on for several months. Once the weather became nicer, the issue went away so I kind of forgot about it. About a month ago out of no where the car would not start and left me stranded in a parking lot. I was able to jump start it after a few minutes of charging. I took the car to my local dealership to have them run diagnostics on it since the battery was not the issue. The dealership said that they could not find anything wrong with the car (said they would start testing all the electrical wiring in the vehicle starting around $1000 which I declined). You would think that they would have been able to check the starter or suggest that but they did not. A month goes by with no issues but I always felt like the car was going to leave me stranded again which sucks. And sure enough it did. This time it would not even take a jump. I had to have it towed to a mechanic friend of mines shop. He replaced the starter and the car is completely back to normal. All said and done it ended up costing me about $425 with the tow charge, which is still way cheaper than what the dealership wanted ($850).

This has happened many times before. Just get a jump or a new battery and will get going.

Where do i go now? What do I do. To think that had made I foolishly made it a policy to drive only Honda cars; whenever I could. Honda makes lousy cars like everyone else. Consumer Reports be damned. Have to call AAA again and this time I must pay because calling 3 times in a week exceeds my quota. Next time, will buy a pure muscle car and to hell with .......

Was surprised to see the same problem recurring within a year. I don't know whether that was a problem with the car or a defect with the starter (Bosch) installed.

Bought the Accord a couple years back, and the dealer replaced the battery when I bought it. This started about two months ago. After a day, the battery would need to be charged to start. We jump it from our 2002 Grand Caravan, which has never had any problems like this. It happens every single day. We are thinking of selling the car if this keeps happening. Honda, please read these and get it right.

battery was less than 2 years old and it seemed to go bad over night.

this was just the beginning. over the next year, and including this week we've had four incidents where the car would not start after not being driven for two or three days. Each time, the car was jumped and taken to a Honda Dealer (more than one) for examination. Twice the battery was replaced due to a "bad cell". The other times they simply charged the battery. The Shop Manager says that all cars made today need to be driven frequently and at least for 7 miles on each use for the battery to recharge. The cars brain and security system eat up the battery. On two of the incidents, the car had not been driven in 3 to 6 days.

I'm sorry, but a healthy and charged battery should not drain in 3 to 6 days of non-used if there are no aftermarket devices on the vehicle. I've owned dozens of cars over the years, four of them being 2003 or greater and NONE of them have had cranking problems like this vehicle. I am certain that I will never buy another Honda Accord.
