I bought a Honda because thay are supposed to be very reliable .
I do oil changes as scheduled etc and have taken excellent car of the car.
I have NEVER had to replace a catalytic converter on any past cars I have owned .It's an expensive repair and I am very frustrated about it .
Car only has 80,000 miles on it .... This has to be a weakness in this vehicle ....( it's a California emission system according to mechanic ) I've not yet replaced it as I can't afford to ...
Any body else out there had this problem ....I'm betting they HAVE ....
Check engine light came on with approximately 112,000 miles. Took it to Honda dealer for diagnosis and they immediately tell me that code P0420 is catalytic converter failure without even investigating it.
