I BOUGHT HONDA BECAUSE I WAS SICK OF ALMOST EVERY AMERICAN CAR I OWNED BEING TOTAL HUNK OF SH*T. THE OLDER ONES ARE MONEY PITS ON WHEELS. MY HONDA WAS GREAT UNTIL C.D. CHANGER JAMMED AND COST WAS EITHER $700 TO REPLACE PART OR $2600 IF PART DIDN'T WORK TO REPLACE ENTIRE STEREO THAT MAY NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I BOUGHT PIONEER TOUCHSCREEN DVD AND SPECIAL INSTALLATION KIT AND DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL HARNESS FOR $800. ALSO HONDA SERVICE IS THE BIGGEST RACKET EVER. I COULD WRITE A BOOK WITH MY COMPLAINTS BUT I WON'T BORE YOU!

I bought the car with a 6 cd player. I later found out that if you had copied cd's that they would skip badly when the weather was cold but the factory cd would play with no problems. The dealership said that the cd player was not rated for home recorded cd's and that the owners manual states that, however the owners manual only states that it has a problem with attached labels on the cd's which I didn't have. Every time that I took the car in with a problem I would complain about this but when I got the car back I noticed that there was never anything on the repair ticket about the cd player. When I called they corporate office to complain I was told that as long as it played factory cd's then there was no problem so there is no fix. Basically the player is garbage in cold weather and great in warm weather.

Like everyone else, my 6 disc cd player does not work, or even respond when I push the CD/aux button. CDs are a thing of the past, but I would like to add an aux line to play my ipod, does anyone know if after adding an aux line, will the cd/aux button work/recognize that there's an add on?

Thanks

The six disc CD changer that came with the car simply failed. It was changing discs and suddenly made a whirring noise. I was not able to eject a CD or play a CD. As the car was still under warranty, I took it to the Honda dealership where they said they could "try" to take out the discs for $85 to remove a problem CD and $110 for labor, and there was no guarantee that would work. They also said that I must have had CDs with "after market labels" on them, which violated the warranty. I know for a fact that none of the CDs in the player have any kind of stickers or labels on them. Dealership suggested I just buy a new player for $600. I told them to do nothing and I went to pick up the car.

Turns out they put the drawer unit below the stereo on weirdly and now it rattles and doesn't close as well as it did before.

My first old car when I started driving was an old Honda and it was great. My first new car in 1997 was a Honda and it was great. With this 2006 Accord, I realize that the quality of Honda has gone way down. The service has been bad from the moment I walked into the dealership to buy the car. I was a Honda loyalist and now I have completely changed my mind and will never buy Honda again. Still have not decided what to do about the stereo yet.
