The transmission begins slipping & eventually has to be replaced, typically soon after 100,000 miles & with a repair cost of over $2,000.
Subframe rust near the front passenger side wheel has become a problem recently, due to the poorly positioned A/C drain hose directly above that area. Repair cost to the subframe is over $2,000.
Engine stalling while driving in the 1999 Accord is typically caused by a defective ignition switch -- inexpensive to repair (under $200) but dangerous.
Peeling paint has also been an issue for these Accords. Most of the complaints are with darker paint colors -- especially green & blue.

Consumer hit another vehicle in the rear at 70mph, and driver's side air bag did not deploy, while the passenger's side did deploy. Dealer has been contacted.
While parking vehicle wheels hit the curb. Air bags deployed. Had notified dealer & manufacturer. Ws informed it was normal to hit raised objects and /or to deploy air bags.
While driving on highway at approx 65 mph was clipped in rear by another vehicle which threw consumer's vehicle onto oncoming traffic in slower lane. Upon impact, neither airbag deployed.
Consumer rearended another vehicle at a 40-45 mph. Upon impact, dual airbags did deploy, causing driver to sustain head/back, and neck injuries. Driver had seatbelt on.
Vehicle involved in collision, resulting in damage to the fender, tire, and the head lamp. However, the airbag deployed on the passenger side, but the driver's side airbag experienced no deployment which could have caused possible injuries, due to no deployment.
