The contact owns a 1995 Honda Accord. When shifting, the vehicle bangs into gear and the transmission jumps and makes a loud noise. He took the vehicle to a meineke dealer and they diagnosed that the muffler and catalytic converter needed to be replaced, and the rims were bent. The underbody of the vehicle has an inch and a half gap, in which the inside of the vehicle can be seen. He took the vehicle to Honda and they stated that the transmission, rear brakes, rotors, motor mount, and air bags needed to be replaced. In addition, the rims were bent. The speed and powertrain were unknown. The current mileage was 91,027 and failure mileage was 90,806.
- the contact stated that on the evening of 12/27/06, while driving her 1995 Honda Accord LX, at a speed of 55 mph, her air bag unexpectedly deployed on passenger side of vehicle. The contact stated that it was on a clear day and the road conditions were good. The contact stated that there were no indicator lights prior to the failure. The air bag just deployed cracked the windshield of the vehicle. The contact stated that she did file a complaint with the manufacture and will submit file # with the hard copy. : the contact stated when the engine was started, the front left air bag deployed without warning. The service dealer and manufacturer were not notified. Updated 10/18/2006 - the vehicle had been immersed in water from a rainstorm the day before.
: the contact stated while driving 40mph the front driver and passenger airbags deployed without incident. As a result minor injuries to the driver's forearm and the passenger's head were sustained. The vehicle did not impact any known road debris. The driver maintained control of the vehicle after the incident. The airbag warning light was not illuminated prior to the accident. The police department was alerted and a report was filed. The vehicle was driven away from the incident and returned to the contact's residence. The insurance company had the vehicle towed to the dealership which determined this was a manufacturing defect. The manufacturer was alerted but will only speak with the insurance company. There was NHTSA recall, # 96V217000 issued in 1996 for an unwarranted deployment of the airbags. The contact is not the original owner of the vehicle therefore it is unknown if the recall work was performed or if the vehicle was included.
1995 Honda Accord air bags deployed inadvertently. ** answer required*** the consumer contacted Honda and was told a recall had been issued regarding the SRS. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer to be inspected and it was determined the consumer vehicle contained a faulty SRS. The manufacturer only offered to pay for half of the air bag replacement. The deployment of the air bag caused other damage to the vehicle. The consumer is seeking restitution.

While driving 20 mph driver applied the brakes and they failed. Vehicle failed to stop completely and collided with the vehicle in front. Upon impact, both frontal air bags failed to deploy. Vehicle was towed to a dealer for inspection. The cause ha not been determined at this time.
While driving 25 mph on a dirt road and without hitting a bump of any sort, the air bags deployed. There was a recall on that particular piece of equipment and it have been remedied.
The vehicle hit a semi-truck at 30 mph. And the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop and the mechanic stated the air bags were fine.
Heard a boom, lost control of the vehicle, passenger side air bag had deployed causing my windshield to shatter. Driverside airbag was deployed and smoke was comming out of the steering wheel.
Air bag light flashed on and off. Vehicle was taken to the dealer. After the vehicle was inspected by the dealer it was determined that sensor needed to be replaced. There was recall 96V217000; however, this vehcle iwas not included due to VIN. Please provide additional information.
While driving on interstate at aproximately 70mph, both driver's and passenger's airbags deployed. The passenger airbag shattered the windshield. I suffered mild abrasion to the hand, ringing in right ear, and smoke inhalation.
