: the contact stated the crs light illuminated in the vehicle three years ago and remains illuminated today. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times over the last three years for inspection, but the dealer was unable to determine what caused the light to illuminate and only reset the crs to turn off the light. The light illuminated again shortly after being reset. The contact recently found recall #96V217000, concerning the airbags online indicating what could cause the light to illuminate, but the VIN is not included. Updated on 05/30/2006.
Air bag light appeared and remained on the dashboard until the vehicle was turned off. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer for analysis, and mechanic noticed that the clock spring needed to be replaced.
While driving the consumer noticed that the SRS light had illuminated. The cause of the problem had not been determined, however the dealer had serviced the vehicle on a number of occasions for this problem alone. The battery was changed in order to remedy the SRS light problem. The dealer didn't charge for the first two battery's.
Air bag S on this vehicle experienced the same defect as stated in recall 96 V 217 000; but this vehicle was not covered under the recall due to VIN. The SRS light stays illuminated all the time. Dealer stated this was a manufacturer's defect.

While traveling at 35 mph, consumer states " lost control another vehicle hit consumer's vehicle, and the air bags deployed after the accident. As a result driver's head was injured.
Consumer states that the air bag warning light is on. Dealer found that the computer chip in the air bag system was inoperative. Manufacturer notified.
Recall 96V217000 repairs concerning air bag was performed with item replaced in 1999. Part has not been working again, and Honda has not shown any responsibilty of replacement.
The air bag dash light has been illuminate for an extended amount of time, the dealer repaired the problem and the consumer is requesting some financial compensation for the repair.
When I turned on the ignition the airbag light came on. I took the car to Honda and they said the computer component in the air bag system was defective. It would cost $600 to $800 dollars to repair/replace. I contacted Honda three times and they would not repair the airbag system saying that all parts on the car wear out and have to be replaced and that is my responnsibility. I argued that something like a safety device in standby condition coulld not wear out since it was never used. They persist in saying all parts of a car wear out and have to be replaced. I need help. Air bag light came on intermittently. Taken vehicle to dealer 8 times and unable to remedy problem. There was a recall 96V217000 concerning air bags, but this vehicle was not affected due to VIN. Consumer states in 3/01/02 his wife and daughter had an accident with front impact at 20-30 mph with no deployment of either air bag, there were 2 injuries.
Air bag sensor light remained on while driving, dealer notified. The computer failure caused the front air bags to fail. Consumer stated that the dealer refused to repair the computer system free of charge because the vehicle was out of warranty, however the mileage was low.
Red light on dash illuminated. Took to dealer, and they stated that computer for airbag died, and needed to be replaced. Driver felt this was very unsafe because this light warned driver that there might be a problem with airbag.there was a recall 96 V 217 000 on another model for same problem.
While driving noticed air bag SRS indicator light on through out travel. Consumer was informed that this part was under recall for cars manufactured between April 1994 and February 1995.
