This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
1995 Honda Accord wagon. Consumer states oil pan is rusted and should be replaced. Consumer would like to know whether Honda has recalled these vehicles to make such changes and forgot send him a recall notice
Brakes failed but engine revved up. Harder I pushed the brakes, the car increased speed. On most occasions, I was able to coast to a stop or use the emergency brake. In this instance, the emergency brake did not hold and crash occurred. Dealer could not find problem when informed of braking issue. It was an intermittent issue but very scary.
Check engine light stays on/door locks intermittently lock/unlock/radio, tape unit plays only intermittently/fuel gauge readings grossly inaccurate, and power antenna will not retract.
Vehicle had a cracked engine block. Dealer has repaired vehicle. The engine block was defective. The consumer states there had been many engine block failures.
Engine oil seepage from front of engine block, cost me $1400 for labor, Honda took care of engine cost. This happened before Honda conducted a campaign for engine oil leakage. Honda said, that what happened to my car wasn't correlated to the campaign. Every scheduled maintenance I took my car to a certified Honda center plus the car haven't driving a lot in 2000 since I'm in the military and deployed to Korea for a year without my car, my wife was only driving the car on base and short errands off-base. I want for Honda to admit that what happened to my car was a major safety manufacturing defect and reimburse me for what I paid ($1400) to get engine replaced.
While on the highway, the camshaft seal failed and all the oil leaked out of the engine, casuing the engine to be destroyed. The cam shaft seal has been recalled by Honda.
While vehicle was in dealer's shop for routine service dealer noticed a crack in the engine block. It was not covered under manufacturer's recall. Provide further details.
Re: exhaust valve springs - car continually stalled. Re: air conditioner - leak behind glove compartment. Re: cracked engine block- discovered when mechanic was looking for air conditioner leak. Fixed crack and remounted engine block without using existing screw because the screw was causing stress to the block.
While traveling approximately 35mph the balance shaft seal blew out. Also, oil light came on & vehicle started to lose fuel. Pulled to side of road. Vehicle was towed to a dealership & the mechanic informed the owner the problem was normal. Manufacturer knows about the balance shaft seal.
The engine block is crack. This causes the engine fluid to leak out. Have taken to dealer for repairs. Was informed would patch cracks but will not repair or replace.
