(1) the car had no prior problems leading up to the incident. (2) a serious fire in the engine compartment caused serious damage to the engine compartment, exterior paint, and A/C and eletrical system. The hood release no longer works either. (3) no corrective measures(as far as repairs) have been taken. My first action was to contact the BBB and nhts.
Safety recall of air conditioning wiring harness possibly caused failures of related A/C components.(compressor clutch, cooling fan motor). Consumer experienced failures prior to recall notice.
The consumer has experienced problems with wiring harness overheating. Consumer received a recall letter for the problem. Recall number 96V231000. The manufacturer has yet to be contacted.
