I only decided to write you because your site says that you have only had one complaint! I've been on the internet trying to solve my problem more economically than going to the local Honda Mechanic, (which I did and the testing and fidling part will cost me at least a $1000), and I found that there are thousands of people out there with the same compalint!!!
This is all one complaint about the motor not wanting to start or run properly.
The car starts like a gem when cold. Drive for 20 minutes and shut it off and it won't start again. It just cranks over. I put in a new fuel pump, $200. I discontected the fuel regulator to make sure it wasn't starving for fuel. No help. I disconnected the battery to reset the computer. Seemed to work sometimes. New igniter. No change. Leave it sit for a couple of hours and it will again start. Engine light comes on while driving. I try to clear it by turning the engine off and on. Works sometimes. Other times leaves me stranded on the side of the road. I'm going to work and when I leave the traffic light it hesitates and wants to stall. I rev it and slip the clutch so it will stay running and I don't end up on the side of the road again. I then high rev before changing gears and it lurches and bogs but I manage to keep it running. The motor is now still running but under powered. At 60 miles per hour it every once in a while limps. Soon the engine light comes on and it starts to run better but not like when it was cold. When I park and shut it off I'm guaranteed that it will not start again so I made an extra key and leave it running. Sometimes for hours in a day. How's that for fuel economy? I have to do something else. I disconnected the starter solenoid wire from the ignition switch and now have a 'push button' under the dash to crank the engine. When it won't start I push the button to spin the starter, hold the accelerator 1/3 the way to the floor and turn the ignition switch on and off until it starts. 1 to 2 minutes. New battery.
My Honda Prelude has the same problem only worse. It stops after 10 minutes of driving.
That, "I Love My Honda" on my license plate is lying.
My Toyota never gives me starting or running problems.
